The scene opens up inside the office of a psychiatrist, your typical shrink office, leather seats, a day bed for therapy sessions, genericly decorated cream walls typical middle class suburbia. A man presumably a psychiatrist is sat at the desk going through some paper work, when suddenly there is a knock at the door.
Man: Come in its open
The door swings open and in walks Faith Robertson, looking a bit tentative and nervous about visiting a psychiatrist. She walks over to the desk and pulls up a chair, takes a seat and anxiously begins tugging away at her hair. The man looks down at his paper work.
Man: you must be Miss Robertson I am Dr Stevens, I can see you are nervous, that is very common, please feel free to have some water and take as much time as you need to compose yourself, this office is a safe place, anything you say within these four walls stays within these four walls and will never be uttered to anyone.
Faith reaches out for a glass and a jug that is on the desk in front of her, she pours herself some water and takes a big gulp. She slips back into the chair and after a few minutes she has calmed down.
Faith: Ok im sorry about that, its...its been a long time since I shared anything about myself with anyone.
Dr Stevens: I understand it can be difficult the first time meeting a new Dr. So Miss Robertson what brings you to my office?
Faith: He said this is the last step in my journey, he said that I had to get everything out in the open, lay it out on the table before I can claim my rightful place.
Dr Stevens: He?
Faith: My saviour, the righteous almighty solider of god
Dr Stevens begins to jot notes down on his note pad, with a look of deep thought on his face.
Dr Stevens: I see and what is your rightful place?
Faith: At his side as an avenger of the weak and frail, as his left tenant, lurking in the shadows, as a lost soul who does the work of our god almighty, the work that is too bad for his angels, doing the necessary evil.
Dr stevens continues to jot down notes and bullet points one of which reads “possible delusions” and another that reads “Religious”. He looks up and smiles at faith a warm and welcoming smile as he begins to speak once more in his obvious English accent, it is not over powering but a more subtle posh accent.
Dr Stevens: I detect a mixed accent what are your roots of origin Miss Robertson?
Faith: I am Scottish, but I have lived in the states since I was 12.
The doc adds this to his notes. "imigrant since 12" "scottish"
Dr Stevens: so lets begin shall we. The problems that you feel need attention, the things that bring you here, when did they begin?
Faith: Well it all started 6 years ago in new York city, or at least thats when everything went tits up
Dr Stevens: I see
DR Stevens looks down at his notes, taking in the information before him before looking back up to faith.
Dr Stevens: and 6 years ago you would have been 13 years?
Faith nods, you can see there is a hesitation in her, not necessarily wanting to talk about the things this line of conversation is going.
Faith: Thats when everything turned to shit and it stayed that way till about 6 months ago
Dr Stevens:I see so up to this year everything was fine?
Faith: Oh completely. I was just a normal girl, I had a loving family, I was passionate about my hobbies, I was doing well in school, I was just your average happy well loved teenage girl.
Dr Stevens: I see here in the notes you supplied my receptionist that 2009 was the year you moved to the USA, was it long after your arrival all this began.
Faith: Not long at all, my family and I came here from Glasgow in the June of that year. We moved out here so I could attend a world famous Taekwondo dojo. I was one of the youngest to ever get a 3rd dan Black belt, I had one numerous international competitions and the best school in the world wanted me so my family moved us out here. All was great then on September 2nd that year it..it.... all changed forever.
Dr Stevens: I see so your traumatic period began September 2nd of 2009? and how long did this last?
Faith: Yes, yes it did and it lasted till 6 months ago.
Dr Stevens: So thats September 2nd 2009 until early august 2014?
Faith nods
Dr Stevens: I see and how did it all begin?
Faith stares blankly as her eyes glass over and she begins staring at a blank spot on the wall, lost in the horrible memory of that did. Minutes go by and she just stares until Dr Stevens breaks the silence by repeating the question.
Dr Stevens: How did it all begin my Robertson?
Faith: I...I....I... dont know if im ready to go into the details, it was a very horrible and complex time for me.
Dr Stevens smiles at Faith another one of his, friendly smiles designed to diffuse tension on present himself as approachable.
Dr Stevens: It's ok Miss Robertson, take all the time you need and we don’t need to go into major detail today, for today we are just taking an outline, a snap shot of it all, you only have to tell me the basics today and then in our next session we can start at the beginning and work our way through.
Faith takes a deep breath and looks down at her shoes and begins to twiddle her thumbs, tears almost forming in the corners of her eyes as she thinks about the bad. But she pulls herself together and remembers why she came here, her saviour sent her, if he deems it necessary then that’s good enough for her. She pulls herself upright in her chair leans forward a little and begins to talk.
Faith: ok, september 2nd 2009 that was the day my parents were killed.
Dr Stevens: I see what were your parents names and what happened next?
Faith: Daniel and Elizebeth Robertson. After their death me and my brother we were put into foster care.
Dr Stevens: Your Brother?
Faith: Yes I have a little brother, Benjamin he is two years younger than me.
Dr stevens scribbles this down on his note pad as “broken familly ties – Benjamin”.
Dr Stevens: Please continue.
Faith: We were with the Micheals family for 3 weeks and then...
Faith looks like tears are beginning to well up in her eyes again as she thinks about the past and in-particular her brief but horrifying time with the Micheals.
Faith: Then I was abused, I was raped by the man of the family and I ran away, took to the streets.
Dr Stevens goes back to his note pad “sexual abuse by person in a role of carer” and “homelessness”
Dr Stevens: I see and Benjamin, did you take him with you?
Faith: No I left him there and I haven’t seen him since.
Dr Stevens: I see so then what happened?
Faith: Then I was on the streets of New York, alone vulnerable and homeless. I slept in cardboard boxes, took clothes out of clothing banks, food out of dumpsters. I survived the best I could, then I met Spider.
Dr Stevens: Spider?
Faith: yeah Spider he was nice to me, brought me food and water, gave me money and then after a few weeks he showed his true colours.
Faith takes a deep breath in as she remembers the man who almost single handedly crushed her trust in humanity. She lets out the breath as a sigh as her face is scrunched up with sadness.
Faith: He told me there was somewhere I could live, a warm bed, all the food and water I needed, he said I would be safe so I trusted him and went with him.
Dr Stevens: But you weren’t safe?
Faith: No far from it, he took me in his car and we drove to Camden, New Jersey. We pulled up outside this grotty old house and he took me inside, lead me up the stairs to a room that had a dirty old mattress in it, a shower in the corner, a fridge and a microwave in the opposite corner. Suddenly he changed, he picked me up and threw me down on the mattress and I froze completely unable to move as he assaulted me the second time I had been raped in as many months. He pulled up his pants and left and I never seen him again.
Stevens returns to his notepad “Spider, broken trust, used and left” Faith looks down at her shoes trying to hold back the tears. She takes a moment or two to compose herself, waiting for the awful memories to stop flooding back. After a minute or two Dr Stevens sees she seems to have recuperated and begins questioning again.
Dr Stevens: So what happened then?
Faith: I lay there for what seemed like hours until a big Russian man called Viktor with a scar from his left ear to his chin came in. He told me that I now belonged to him, that I would live and work here, my fridge would be fully stocked and I would pay no rent. Then it began, two, three sometimes four times a day men would come to my room, have sex with me and then leave.
Dr Stevens: Spider had sold you into prostitution?
Faith nods with a look of deep sadness and anger in her eyes. Stevens heads to his notepad once more- “sold into Slavery” “Child abuse of sexual nature” “Held captive”. There’s another deep sigh from Faith as she steadies herself to continue with uncovering her terrible past. Even if she is telling him the bare minimum it is still very raw and difficult to talk about.
Faith: this became my life, I would see clients as Viktor called them and he would give me everything I needed to survive in return. I wasn’t allowed to leave the building unless one of Viktor's crew was with me
Dr Stevens: And how long did this go on?
Faith: until 6 months ago.
Stevens begins scribing notes once more “Sex slave for 4 years” “captive for this time”
Dr Stevens: And how did you escape it?
Faith: Well after around two years Viktor use to let me leave unsupervised provided I went no further than the end of the block. One day I was sitting on the floor outside a convenience store when my saviour approached me he was asking me questions about Viktor, said if I told him everything I knew he would set me free. I was paranoid convinced it was a trick, that Viktor had set it up to test me so I told him nothing. Then the next day, the next day and the day after that he came back each time showing me photos of Viktor and asking me what I knew. Eventually I trusted him and gave him what he needed.
Dr Stevens: What did he need?
Faith: A key, so he could enter Viktors den, the place I called home
Dr Stevens: I see and then what happened?
Faith: He stormed the house in the middle of the night, he killed all of Viktors men and true to his word he came to my room and he rescued me.
Stevens's notes: “saved by man she calls saviour”
Dr Stevens: I see so since then you have been with this man your saviour?
Faith: Yes he has been teaching me to reconnect with myself and with god so that I can carry out my divine mission.
Dr Stevens: I see so you are religious?
Faith: With a name like mine I was always destined to be so, I was christened Catholic and raised as such prior to my parents death I prayed every day, I was a good Christian girl on a path to leading a life of love and happiness, when it all changed I stopped believing then my righteous saviour came to me, he told me god had not forgotten me and my belief it began to come back.
Dr Stevens: I see, so this brings us completely up to date?
Faith: Yep
Dr Stevens: Well we have made some great progress here today miss Robertson. We can begin to look deeper into the issues you raised and see if we can resolve them in our future sessions. Now is there anything you would like to ask me?
Faith: No I don’t think so.
Dr Stevens: Well ok then you can make your next appointment with my receptionist on your way out, thank you very much for coming to see me Miss Roberts.
Faith gets up and heads for the door, feeling somewhat lighter, as if the huge burden of getting some of her issues off her chest and out in the open with someone, has been eased. The scene fades out as Faith opens the door and leaves.
One Hour Later
An unknown Location, Somewhere in the NYC area.
The scene opens up in a poorly lit back alley somewhere in New York. Faith Robertson is in the Alley, she has trash bags hanging from a fire escape and a dumpster she is using as make shift training apparatus. Faith takes a run up leaps up onto the dumpster and springs off it flying through the air with a spinning roundhouse to one of the bags, she lands perfectly but slightly out of breath. Suddenly footsteps can be heard and a shadowy figure approaches Faith and places his arm on her shoulder and she grabs it tight ready to flip the man over, but the man leans in gently and begins to speak.
Mysterious man: Its ok child for it is I, How did it go?
Faith: It was ok I guess. I still don’t understand why you feel I have to talk to a quack about all this.
Mysterious man: Ah my child you must own your past, you must remember it all, every last detail! For it is the bad experiences that will fuel you the most in times of need. Our journey will not be an easy one, we shall face many obstacles and you need to remember all the bad, to show you exactly why you are standing tall and fighting for the good of humanity now!
Faith: Oh, so you want me to freshen my memory? You actually want me to remember how horrible things have been!
Mysterious man: I can see you think this is cruel but I promise you my child this is what the lord almighty wants. He led me to you, he wants you to join me on my crusade, see child you are my Faith, you are proof that good people can endure the tortures of evil and come out the other side intact. Together we will free others from the tortures of evil and to do that we are going to, we have to fight and you my child are going to need to use your experiences as ammunition to fight for a better tomorrow. The fight starts now, we go to UWA this week and we announce our presence to the world.
Faith: Yeah I get it now, you needed me to get ammunition, so im ready. but why that guy? Why send me to him? I mean he is a pompous Englishman, out of all the people you could have sent me too it had to be an Englishman, us Scots were not fond of Englishmen.
Faith turns round to find that her last sentence was heard by no one, for her saviour has vanished, disappeared into the night.
Faith: Typical, right better say hello to UWA!
Faith goes over to the dumpster and opens it up pulling out her a bag from which she pulls out a tripod and a camera. Most people would never dream of storing things in a dumpster even if its in sight. However a bit of dirt doesnt phase Faith one little bit. She sets the camera up and once she is happy she has a good angle hits the record button and steps infront of the camera. Faith begins to make her first address to the fine folks at UWA. A video that would be uploaded to the company website.
Faith: For years I sat in a self containing room accepting my surroundings as the be all and end all of my existence. I spent day and night doing nothing more than fulfilling the sexual desires of men. Why did I accept this? Why did I not fight my situation? Simply put because I was a lost little girl who had long since forgotten how to fight her ground. It wasn’t always this way, sure at first when I was just a little thirteen year old girl I tried to fight it, I tried to stand my ground, but there is only so many times you can be beaten to within an inch of your life before you realise fighting is no use when your a 13yr old girl taking on a gang of tall strong Russian men. I accepted my fate and did as I was told.
Each word is spoken with conviction and clarity, yet there is a faint trace of anger in her voice. Anger that she took things at face value and stopped fighting, but also threes a hint of resolve. Resolve that she will never lose hope again that she will fight the good fight even if she has to die in battle.
But then 6 months ago Everything changed, a righteous disciple of the lord almighty came to me and he freed me from my predicament. He taught me how to fight my ground again, he lead me to discover that I was always destined for great things from the moment I was born. For I was christened Faith and Faith is exactly what I am going to bring to humanity. Faith that the lord almighty has not forgotten his children, that he cares for and loves us all.
Theres a look of determination in her face, but this becomes over ridden with a smile. A warm and welcoming smile as faith puts her arms out to her side and looks up to the heavens preying to her lord almighty and thanking him for not forgetting her, for sending her saviour.
Why though did he put me through what he did if I was destined to lead the fight against evil and spread his word around the world? Well you see its not as simple as him putting us through it. You see I was an unfortunate one, I was one of the good natured people thrown off course by evil. The path of the wicked can on occasion derail the path of the righteous. That is where I and my righteous saviour, the solider of god come into the picture.
Courage and conviction can be seen etched on her face at this moment. She has a lot of pure unwavering belief that her path is the right one and the one that her lord and saviour wish for her to follow.
You see my saviour, my knight in shining armour was sent to me by the lord himself to free me from the evils that had entrapped me and now I am destined to join him on his quest. For now I am sgt at arms for the lord. I guess you could call us agents of justice. We lurk in the shadows freeing those trapped by evil and allowing them to discover the innate goodness within oneself. For the lord sent me my saviour and now I shall be thine saviour of many other trapped souls, souls that have been confounded by evil and perused by the hounds of hell. No longer will we let this happen uncontested, for we will face the hounds of hell and send them back to the flames they emerged from with their tails tucked between their legs.
Faith delivers these words with conviction and clarity, there is even a sense of anger in her voice as she is determined to fight for others who face situations like she suffered through.
My journey begins here in UWA, for I will spread the word of the lord and I will free those pursued by the wicked ways of the devil. Heed my warning for if thee step to the side of the devil thou shall feel the wrath of Gods Avengers!
Faith throws her hands up to the sky again and raises her head to the heavens “With the lord by our side we shall rise and conquer the evil that infests our planet, for lord you have given us the strength to rise and make a stand” Faith lowers her arms and smiles. She composes herself and begins to eloquently address the UWA universe.
My first business here in UWA is to compete against Derek Wellings a man who has misguidedly being directly involved in acts of political violence. See Mr Wellings it is well known that you have served in the military, but I can not blame you and neither shall the lord almighty. Even if you have been greasing the palms of the evil and wicked that control the powers of this country in your heart you have been protecting the millions from the powers of evil. For that I commend you, see Mr Welling's you are not part of the problem in UWA, on the contrary you may even be part of the solution shall you see the errors of your ways in the military and wish to join us on our journey of righteousness.
She throws her arms open again and begins to speak “ for all the lords children who embrace his love are welcome to stand by our side” She looks down the camera but this time with a more serious look on her face.
However whilst you do have my respect and admiration for your good intentions, I am afraid that I shall have to defeat you. For the lords work must be done here in UWA and to be taken seriously I must stand toe to toe with every competitor and fight till I can no longer stand. This may be my first wrestling match but believe me it is far from my first fight and fight I will. Derek Wellings I want you to bring your best. I want you to throw everything you have at me, test my skills, test my strength of character. For the lord sent me my saviour and gave me my second chance and now I shall grasp it with both hands and introduce the world to the dawn of a new era, the dawn of Gods Avengers, the protectors of those who have manipulated by evil.
Faith for one last time throws her arms wide open and looks up to the heavens. Not uttering a word this time, her eyes closed simply preying to the lord and the scene fades out to black as she does so.
