Sariel walks across the Children of Nephilim’s compound, whispering to herself in German to try and calm herself without really knowing why she’s even doing it. This was simply something that always seemed to make her feel at home even though no memory existed for her that would explain why it did so.
Sariel: Vater unser im Himmel
Geheiligt werde dein Name
She continues across the grassy courtyard, walking between buildings as she watches the other Children of Nephilim milling around in their usual aimless, meandering fashion.
Sariel: Dein reich komme
Dein Wille geschehe
She nods to a pair of fellow Watchers, the tall dark-haired yet easily retiring woman, Tamiel and her usual partner, the smaller brunette woman, Satariel. They usher the milling Children back towards a building as Sariel continues across the campus towards the main meeting area for the Watchers, a collective referred to as “The Nine.” She glances over as she hears their voices from behind the moving Children.
Tamiel: Do you think Father is really not coming back?
This was a question Sariel had heard a lot of following the previous show in UWA where both the high priestess referred to as “Mother” by the Children, Maiko Adachi, and the Dark Messiah referred to as “Father” by said Children, Joshua McBride, had seemingly solidified a split that would affect them all.
Satariel: Not so loud… we do not wish to create panic amongst the flock…
Sariel pauses to watch them herd their flock into the building and then shakes her head in both sadness and disgust that such worries were necessary considerations.
Sariel: Wie im Himmel so auch auf Erden
Und vergib uns unsere Schuld
The place had been in chaos since the split had started, with the Watchers even unsure of exactly what should be done. Sariel starts walking again, more Children wandering into another building under the care of two other Watchers.
Sariel: Und fьhre uns nicht in Versuchung
Sondern erlцse uns von allen Bцsen.
As she comes closer, the red headed woman known as Arakiel walks out of the building she’s just been inside of with a vaguely Asian, depressed looking dark-haired woman next to her. The two, Arakiel and Turiel, close the door behind them as they loom to each other.
Turiel: Come on, Red, you know...
Arakiel looks like she’s having none of the other woman’s attitude.
Arakiel: I know what? What do I know, Blackie?
The two women both roll up their robes’ sleeves exposing their matching “thirteen” tattoos, Arakiel’s in vivid blood red and Turiel’s in dark black. Sariel shakes her head as Arakiel makes eye contact with her. Arakiel nods and then taps Turiel to show her. Sariel nods to them and they nod in return, following her as she continues on. Within a few seconds, Tamiel and Satariel catch up and follow to the meeting area. The five women come to the open door of the meeting room to find the twins inside and already engaged in a seemingly fierce argument.
Ramiel: Her fault!
Ananiel: His fault!
Ramiel: Her fault!
Ananiel: His fault!
Ramiel: Her fault!
Ananiel: His fault!
Ramiel: Her fault!
Ananiel: His fault!
Sariel slowly inches in and glances to the back where the other two Watchers, the dark spike-haired man known as Armaros and the larger, blonde crewcut and athletic man known as Samyaza, sit in their places on either side of the table just shrugging.
Armaros: They’ve been at it for hours…
Samyaza nods and Sariel shakes her head turning back to the argument at hand.
Ramiel: Her fault!
Ananiel: His fault!
Ramiel: Her fault!
Ananiel: His fault!
Ramiel: Her fault!
Ananiel: His fault!
Ramiel: Her fault!
Ananiel: His fault!
Arakiel nods as if she’s agreeing with somebody and Turiel shakes her head.
Turiel: You’re agreeing with that?
As Turiel points to Ramiel, Arakiel nods.
Arakiel: Like I asked you earlier, Blackie, what exactly do I know about it?
Ramiel hears this and looks like he might detonate.
Ramiel: SEE!!! Look at what this is doing to us!
Ananiel is unmoved.
Ananiel: He failed!
Ramiel almost punches his twin brother.
Ramiel: He did NOT fail! Our enemies lie scattered before us! They feed on the blood of each other bringing exactly the chaos and disorder he proclaimed!
As Ananiel starts to retort, Sariel walks to the head of the table and pounds her fist on the hard wooden surface.
Sariel: ENOUGH!!!
The other eight Watchers turn to face her as she gazes out upon them.
Sariel: Hold your tongues lest you speak against those you hold most dear and bear false witness before Him that is Our Lord!
The others nod and take their places at the table, Ramiel, Arakiel and Satariel joining Armaros on the left while Ananiel, Turiel and Tamiel join Samyaza on the right. Sariel takes it in and nods.
Sariel: Brothers… Sisters…
Her hands spread out to welcome them all into the gathering.
Sariel: It is not for we who are gathered together here in their names to decide which of our parents are right or wrong. Mother and Father are both to be honored, the Lord commands this of us and we shall honor His will! You all know he can see all that is said and done inside this place.
She nods to the camera broadcasting this to certain places knowing full well that both Maiko and Joshua can see and hear everything in this meeting house.
Sariel: We know not what their plans are, we who were spared during the Culling.
The other eight all nod in unison.
Sariel: We who were spared during the Cleansing.
The others all nod in unison a second time.
Sariel: We who have been afforded position above others! We few who are afforded the right to say their hallowed names when others are not…
She places her fist on the table again as the others drink in her every word.
Sariel: We cannot allow our faith to be shaken! We are here because the outside world rejected us and Father and Mother accepted us into their fold. We were chosen amongst and above others and burdened with glorious purpose and we must let nothing stand in our way to give them thanks and praise! We are the Fallen who were discarded by Heaven and given free reign by Them who we hold exalted to roam as we see fit amongst these grounds! We are the Watchers chosen to keep and gather in the lost sheep and give the them form as a flock for Them we hold exalted! We are the Bene Elohim and we must hold fast when others would give up their cause and surrender their war because they did not know the way! Yet, not what we will, but what They will!
She turns to the left and the end of the table.
Sariel: Ramiel!
She turns to the right and the end of the table
Sariel: Ananiel!
The twins nod to her in acknowledgement.
Sariel: We have been chosen to put the Father to the test. It is not our place to question why we must do this but to follow the will. We shall all be weighed and measured and we must not be found wanting! This is not only the Father’s crucible, but ours as well! In it we shall burn away all irrelevancies until we are left with a pure product, the truth, for all time. We are put to the test just as the Father is...
She pauses, bowing her head.
Sariel: Hallowed be thy name!
The others all nod in agreement.
Sariel: Link hands.
All nine link hands and bow their heads.
All: Lo matou Tamä e, oi le lagi,
ia paia lou suafa.
Ia o’o mai lou malo.

Sariel nods, squeezing hands.
Sariel: Our test is upon us… thy will be done…
