Inside a doctor’s office at the UWA headquarters, Amy Zing is getting a check up before doing bonus commentary for the Raising Hell DVD. Following the vicious assault on her by Bob Brooks, she was sent to a hospital for observation and to make sure she does not have a concussion. Amy Zing is getting dressed. She finishes slipping her top on. The UWA Television Championship sits on a table in the room.
Amy pulls her hair out of her blouse collar and lets it drape over her shoulder. Her eyes shift to the Television Championship.
“I think right now, I really only have one question going through my mind and that is what the hell Bob Rooks?”
Amy shakes her head a bit.
“I mean seriously Bob, I thought we were friends, or if not friends, we were at least not at each other’s throats. So, I am a little confused as to why you hit the ring tonight and started beating on me. I know you have a thing for Lacey Roberts, but did you think beating me up would impress her? It may. I have no idea what Lacey is into, so she could be into it. I wish you had gone with a more traditional route, like a poem or candy and flowers, or asking her out for coffee, or something other than attacking me after my match. If it actually works and get you a date, I suppose I can live with it, but I really do not appreciate you attacking me Bob.”
“I don’t know Bob, I expected a little more out of you. Okay, sure I don't know you that well, but still. Yes, you lost the match and since that day, you’ve really not done anything. Now what? You are going to blame me for, what, derailing your career? Bob, you could have won that match. Skylar could have won that match. J-Shades could have won that match. Any of you could have won the match, but I won. Now you can be mad at me all you want Bob, but if you wanted a shot at the Television Championship, all you had to was ask. Instead, you really sort of wondered around and now you are trying to impress a girl. How is it my fault your career is off-track? I admit I am not that tall, but I still cannot be that hard to find. All you had to do is ask. I mean, honestly, I do want to defend this title. I really do. All Lacey had to do was ask, but instead she just strolled up and assumed she would win the title and that is really bothering me. No one seems to think I have a chance to retain this championship, as if Lacey’s victory is a forgone conclusion. It is like no one thinks I am going to fight back or that I will just lose the match. Well I have no intention of losing the Television Championship, nor will I apologize for seemingly ruining Bob Brooks’ career. What happened to you after I won the title is not my fault Bob. I do not see why you are blaming me for your failures or your not getting matches or opportunities. We had a guy complaining about that, and you just sat at home, even after he offered people to join him, but you didn’t. You could have done something like commentary or start your own interview show like several wrestlers have previously done. But you did nothing. So I do not see how your failures or lack of success is my fault. That match could have gone either way. Would you be upset at J-Shades or Skylar if they won? Or is it just because you are trying to impress a girl? All you had to do was ask fro a shot or a match and I would have given it to you. But you didn’t and now you are acting like Lacey, bitter, jealous and convinced she will win the title. And that’s just sad Bob, that really is just sad.”
It is at this point where Amy realizes that she is just rambling now and stops talking. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath, then exhales slowly. She opens her eyes.
“Sorry about that. I got off to a ramble.”
Amy sighs, seemingly frustrated.
“Bob, what happened to you after I won the Television Championship is not my fault. What happens to you at Monday Night Mayhem will be my fault, because I am going to go out to the ring and I am going to do my best to kick your head off in front of your girlfriend. Or, maybe you get another chance to impress her.”
“And you will have that chance at the next Monday Night Mayhem, because I went to Georgio Oliver, and I asked him for something, and he gave it to me. You, Bob Brooks, and Lacey Roberts will meet me and Craven in a tag team match.”
“To be honest, I actually do not know why Craven agreed to be my partner in this match. I will admit that Skylar and I are not friends, but we are cordial. Or at least as cordial as tow people who have maybe exchanged pleasantries once or twice and then wrestled two matches against each other. I do respect her strength and determination to make it in wrestling. I respect that she has been able to rise above what has happened to her and follow her dream. Still, not exactly how that relates to getting Craven as a tag team partner. He and I may have had one conversation back when I first met Skylar, and it wasn’t even that long of a conversation. It was really more of an interdiction to be honest. And we have actually wrestled against each other before. If I recall correct, he beat me. Though, I will admit, the list of people who have beaten me is not a particularly short list. But, I went looking for a tag team partner and he showed up, so I am thankful for that. No idea why, but I am not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Although, I am not really sure why anyone looks any kind of horse in the mouth aside from dentistry and I am not sure if there is such a thing as a horse dentist. I think there are dentists for dogs, but I don’t know about other animals having dentists of there own. I always thought a veterinarian would handle animal dentistry, but clearly I was wrong. Granted, I have not really done a lot of research into it, but clearly my assumption was wrong.”
“The Hong Kong Sensation” stops talking as she realizes that she is rambling again and stops talking. Again, she closes her eyes and takes a deep breath and exhales slowly. She opens her eyes and shakes her head.
“Sorry.”
“I really don’t know why I am rambling like this. It’s rather weird, isn’t it?”
She pauses in thought.
“Where was I?”
Amy nods as she recalls what she was originally talking about.
“Oh right, teaming with Craven.”
“I personally do not care what Craven’s motives are. I am grateful for his help and I highly doubt that he will betray me. And, unlike Bob and Lacey, I am not stringing him along in an attempt to use him. I would not do that to Skylar, or to Craven or to anyone. So, if Craven is willing to stand beside me against the two of you, Bob and Lacey, then I am going to trust him and we are hopefully going to be able to win this match. At the very least Bob, I am going to try to kick your head off. And I would like to say it is not personal, but you have made it personal.”
“And speaking of making it personal Lacey, I do not know which is worse; your constant personal attacks about me, or your assumption that taking the Television Championship from me will be easier than falling down. It’s like you just think I am going to just give you the title without a fight.”
"The Hong Kong Sensation" moves to the Television Championship, placing her hand on the title she won moths ago at Raising Hell.
“Well you know what Lacey, I am a nice person. And I am going to give you something, but it will not be the Television Championship.”
Amy picks up the Television Championship and looks at the title’s gold plate, which still, for the moment, has her name on it.
“I told you to name a time and a place, and I expected you to jump at the chance. I expected that before the end of Mayhem, following that announcement, you’d be grabbing an interviewer and telling me the when and where. When that didn’t happen, I reckoned you were going to tell me the time and place afterwards. And especially after I nearly kicked your head off, I thought I would have an answer before Tuesday. And then days went by, and I heard nothing from you.”
“To be perfectly honest, I was a bit surprised. After you seemed so confident you could just stroll into the ring and take this from me whenever you wanted, after acting like your championship reign is a sure thing, and acting like I am too nice and polite to even fight back, I give you the chance to choose your moment, the moment you seem so sure is yours, you do not take it.”
“For someone who wants to be UWA Television Champion, who seems to think that she can take this title from me whenever she wants, you really didn’t jump at the chance like I thought you would. It feels like I am doing all the work to help you win the Television Championship. I mean honestly, the only thing I have yet to do is just lay down in the ring and let you pin me, which is not going to happen, but still, it feels like I’ve done most of the work to make this match happen and you’re already planning the victory celebration.”
The current reigning UWA Television Champion shrugs and shoulder the title.
“Oh well.”
“But, getting back to what I was saying about me being a nice person, I have decided to give you something else. As I said, I feel like I am doing most of the work to make what you believe will be a guaranteed victory happen. So I have decided to make your moment of glory a much grander moment for you.”
“And really, I do this because you don’t want to pin me and risk me claiming you had a loaded glove or boot or that my shoulder was up or that I had my foot on the rope or anything that may invalidate the pin. And you certainly do not want to try and win this by a submission, because I am sure you have more important things to do that night after you win the Television Championship and you’d want to get to them quickly and trying to make me tap out or wait for me to pass out in a submission hold may delay those plans as you think, what, the match will take maybe less than five minutes? Twenty seconds at the most? No, we need to make your becoming UWA Television Champion a much bigger deal. And, that is my gift to you Lacey, making your becoming UWA Television Champion a much grander moment than it would be if you just pinned me.”
“And there is only really one way to make it worthy of how great you think you are. Well, technically, it is three ways actually.”
She smiles. This however is not Amy’s usual cheer smile. This is more malevolent.
“Tables, ladders and chairs.”
“Let me repeat that for you, in case you missed it. I said tables, ladders and chairs.”
“Still not sure you heard me that time either? Okay, well, since I am so nice, let me say it again. What I said was tables, ladders and chairs.”
“What was that? You need to hear it again? Well okay. One more time, I said tables, ladders and chairs. I’ll say it again if you missed it, tables, ladders and chairs.”
“Tables, ladders and chairs!”
“Tables, ladders and chairs!”
“Tables, ladders and chairs!”
“Tables, ladders and chairs!”
“Tables, ladders and chairs!”
“That’s right Lacey, I am saying we make this one a tables, ladders and chairs match. We hand this UWA Television Championship, which still has my name on it, above the ring, we drive each other through tables, bludgeon each other with chairs and we climb a fifteen foot ladder to bring this title down.”
Looking at the title on her shoulder, “The Hong Kong Sensation” places her hands on the plate of the UWA Television Championship, tapping her fingers against the gold plate.
“There are a few minor things that you failed to calculate in your belief that you would just automatically become UWA Television Champion. The first is that I am willing to put absolutely everything on the line for a regular match, so you can imagine what I am willing to do for a major match like this with a title on the line, because I will put it all on the line to leave Cataclysm still the Television Champion. The second this you failed to consider is that I am willing to fight to keep this title a lot more than you are willing to fight to win it. And the third thing you neglected to consider is the last person who really got me mad, despite being much taller, stronger and bigger than me had to hire a bodyguard to keep him save because I didn’t try to kick his head off. I fully intended to.”
She looks back up from the title with an uncharacteristic smirk.
“But hey, you are Lacey Roberts, the self-proclaimed next Television Champion, so this should no problem. And it is great that you have this innate superiority over me, because at Cataclysm, in a tables, ladders and chairs match, you are going to have to kill me to walk out with this title. But, and this is the final thing you forgot to consider, when a phoenix dies, they rise again, so even if you win, I will be back.”
“But right now, we have Monday Night Mayhem, and it is you and Bob Brooks versus Craven and I, so lets see how much of a preview we can give all these people, because I am going out to that ring and I am going to try to kick your head off, but I will settle for Bob’s, and I am going to show you, Bob and everyone watching, but especially you, why I am simply Amy Zing.”
Amy rolls her shoulder to get the title to sit more comfortably. She starts to move to the exit and opens the door.
“Bob and Lacey, I would wish you luck, but I find myself neither particularly wanting to, because I do not fancy either of you to be honest, and I will see you at Monday Night Mayhem.”
The scene fades out as Amy exits the room, the door closing behind her.
Amy pulls her hair out of her blouse collar and lets it drape over her shoulder. Her eyes shift to the Television Championship.
