UWA ring announcer Jamie Hensley is seated at a table with a glass of water. The table is covered in a nice white table cloth with silverware folded into the napkin. The centerpiece is pink flowers in a vase with condiments around it.
Jamie is dressed like she is going to announce a UWA Monday Night Mayhem, with a long skirt and a low cut, but tasteful top. Her hair is down over her eye, like she is trying to use it to cover something. She sets her coffee down and gets to her feet, moving a bit slower than expected, however, she is just getting over a rather violent close-up of the UWA World Championship.
“The Hong Kong Sensation” Amy Zing walks into the restaurant. She is dressed in a simple red dress and black leggings. Her hair is unbound, hanging down her back and shoulders. She has a black purse over her shoulder.
The two women, two friends, share a brief embrace and separate. Amy sets her purse down. Jamie sits back down, moving slowly as she does so, while Amy takes her seat. After adjusting her seat, Amy unfolds her napkin, and removes the silverware setting her knife, fork and spoon in their proper places on the table. Opening her napkin, she places it over her lap.
Jamie Hensley: “Hey, glad you could make it.”
Amy Zing: “Thanks for the invite. I missed doing this. Things just got hectic after ACW closed and I went to APW. I mean, sure I had a great run there, but I missed getting together like we used to. I especially missed the rides with Dahlia. Those were fun.”
Jamie Hensley: “I can imagine.”
A waiter stops by filling Amy’s glass with water and handing the two women menus.
Waiter: “Good afternoon ladies. I’m Jack and I’ll be your waiter today. I’ll give you a minute with our menus. Can I get you anything to drink?”
Amy Zing: “Do you have brewed ice tea?”
Jack the Waiter: “We do.”
Amy Zing: “I’ll have an ice tea.”
Jamie Hensley: “I am fine with water.”
Jack the waiter nods and walks away. The two women open their menus.
Amy Zing: “So, how are you feeling?”
Jamie Hensley: “I’m good. I am sure you have taken worse shots.”
Amy Zing: “I definitely have. But you’re not a wrestler, it still wasn’t right. Now be honest with me.”
Jamie Hensley: “Amy…”
Amy Zing: “Jamie.”
Hensley sighs and lowers her menu. She brushes her hair from her face. Although the swelling has subsided, she is clearly wearing a lot of make up to conceal the last remnants of a black eye. There are stitches in her cheek from where it was busted open. Amy lowers her menu and tries not look upset at it. Jamie quickly lowers her hair back over her eye as the waiter brings Amy’s ice tea. If he noticed anything, he didn’t say.
Jack the Waiter: “Can I interest you in an appetizer?”
The two women look at each other and shake their heads.
Jamie Hensley: “No thank you.”
Amy Zing: “Not today. Thank you though.”
Jack the Waiter: “Do either of you know what you would like to order yet?”
The two women quickly look at their menus.
Jamie Hensely: “I’ll have the cob salad with the house dressing.”
Amy Zing: “I’ll have the chicken and broccoli fettuccine.”
Jack the Waiter: “Very good.
Their waiter takes their menus and walks off. Amy adds a bit of sugar to her ice tea, stirring it. She takes a sit
Jamie Hensley: “The black eye should clear up by Mayhem, and the headaches aren’t too bad, the nausea has passed, I’m not light sensitive any more and I can see fine so I am not having vision issues. I am a little sore, but otherwise okay. I have to see the trainer before Mayhem to see if I still have a concussion.”
“The Hong Kong Sensation” looks a bit upset. Jamie quickly notices and waves it off.
Jamie Hensley: “Hey, don’t worry. I’m fine.”
Amy Zing: “No you aren’t. You were attacked and there was no reason for it.”
Jamie Hensley: “Well obviously I would rather not have ended last week’s show with Aerynn nailing me in the face with the title. It happened.”
Amy Zing: “I know. I still think there should be a fine or something. She should apologize. I mean you can’t just go and punch out a referee because you have a problem with his decision, so I don’t think you should hit a ring announcer for being forced to read something. I can’t go out of the ring and start hitting Chase because of his commentary. I mean I can go out there and hit Sang Réal because of their commentary or their promos, and they have it coming. But still, I can’t just go around attacking UWA personnel. Not that I would, but I don’t think anyone should be able to just do that because they snapped or whatever her excuse is. It is certainly not right.”
Jamie sips her water, setting the glass down.
Jamie Hensley: “You’re rambling.”
“The Hong Kong Sensation” blushes and closes her eyes. She takes a deep breath. She exhales slowly and then opens her eyes.
Amy Zing: “Sorry.”
Jamie Hensley: “It’s okay. Besides, I think you should worry less about Aerynn Donnelly and more about your match with J-Shades. I mean, you would like to win a match at least once while you are here, right?”
Amy Zing: “Ouch.”
Jamie Hensley: “I’m just teasing.”
Amy Zing: “Well it was still a low blow.”
Jamie Hensley: “Sorry.”
Amy Zing: “It’s okay. And yeah, I know I should be more focused on J-Shades now than anything else, but I hate seeing a friend getting attacked. It’s bad enough I am worrying about Bethany.”
Jamie Hensley: “I’m sure Ashley and Nikki will work it all out with Bethany. You always put others ahead of yourself. You need to focus on you and your match with J-Shades.”
Amy Zing: “You’re right.”
Jamie Hensley: “I know I am.”
Jamie adjusts her hair so as to make sure it still is hiding her covered up black eye. Amy takes a drink of her ice tea and leans back in her chair a bit as she sets the glass down.
Amy Zing: “I really should focus on J-Shades. I definitely could use the win. I would hate to go through my UWA run without a single victory. That would be a disappointing run, wouldn’t it?”
Jamie Hensley: “Yeah, and you are good enough to get at least one.”
Amy: “Like I said, all I can do is keep getting up and trying again. I will admit that it does get a bit frustrating loosing match after match. I do not want a zero in my win column for my entire run in UWA. Granted, I would like more than one win, but let’s start at getting that first win and take it from there I suppose. Then again, I did not have a great win/loss record in ACW or in APW, so I am used to it. Still, I got a few big wins and even a championship reign. Hopefully, I can get another.”
Jamie Hensley: “I am sure you will get a title run and a few wins.”
Amy Zing: “Let’s start at one win before I worry about other wins, let alone a championship. But thanks.”
Picking her napkin up, Jamie opens it up and removes her silverware. She sets the silverware down and spreads the napkin on her lap.
Jamie Hensley: “So what are you going to do about J-Shades?”
Amy Zing: “The same thing I do every time. I am going to fight the best that I can, get up as long as I can pull myself up to my feet. It may be the opening match, and I am fine with that, because it means that we are going to set the tone for the whole night. I want to give them an opening show they will be talking about. I want to give them an opening match that makes them cheer and gets the excited for the whole night. I am going to go out to the ring, try to kick his head off and show J-Shades why I am simply Amy Zing.”
Amy would continue, but at that moment their waiter returns with their meals. He sets the salad in front of Jamie and the pasta dish in front of Amy. The two women begin to eat as the scene fades out.
