After a rough few weeks, the members of Arsenal find themselves home in New Orleans all at once for the first time in forever, or, so it feels like anyway. Nikki Peltier’s living room is the setting with Nikki herself sitting on a big overstuffed brown leather chair, Ashley Kenyon sitting on the chair’s twin, while Bethany Kenyon and Jeszika Gautier sit together on the matching couch. The four friends sit, relaxing for the time since, well, it’s been a while, enjoying each other’s company like they did before the madness started.
Nikki: So...
Bethany nods.
Bethany: So...
Ashley rolls her eyes.
Ashley: You gotta be kidding me with this shit...
Jeszika: Yeah, let’s just talk like adults here, none of this pussy footing around.
She looks over at them all.
Jeszika: Who the hell are these Bene Elohim guys? And why did they help us?
Nikki: They appear to be a set of Samoan twins with single angelic names. I tried looking into them but there’s just nothing. It’s like they didn’t exist until the day they showed up here. Their manager is the same way.
Bethany frowns.
Bethany: Didn’t exist?
Nikki nods.
Nikki: I can’t find anything immediate about them at all. I’ve reached out to other sources so now I’m waiting to hear back from them.
Bethany: So if they’ve had previous dealings with any of us or the Children…
Jeszika: I haven’t seen them before. Ever. How about you guys?
Nikki shakes her head.
Nikki: No, I’d remember a big set of Samoan twins.
Bethany nods in agreement.
Bethany: I’ve never seen them either.
Ashley shakes her head.
Ashley: That makes all four of us.
Bethany nods.
Bethany: So they must have something against the Children.
Nikki: Well, they did quote the Bible a lot in their debut promo and considering McBride’s complex…
Jeszika: You reckon they'd see him as sacrilegious, or the devil, or something else, Nik?
Bethany: This DID seem to hit the false prophet button a lot.
Jeszika: Well it’s exactly what he is. Dude thinks he's got the right to wash UWA of its sins like some modern day Jesus...
Ashley nods her agreement as well.
Ashley: And they have that Japanese chick that’s like a priestess with them too. That can’t go over well with God Squadders.
Jeszika: Priestess sounds more pagan, yeah God Squadders ain’t gonna like that one.
Nikki considers this.
Nikki: Yeah, I suppose she does almost come off like a voodoo queen.
Bethany shakes her head.
Bethany: I wonder if that’s for real or if they’re making fun of us and Aerynn for being from places that are both highly Catholic and yet highly pagan as well, Celtic druids and New Orleans voodoo and all.
Jeszika: Who knows, I guess we'll find out in time…
Ashley shrugs.
Ashley: Why should we care?
Bethany looks up at her sister in disbelief.
Bethany: Because everything else has been personal. They followed us, I mean, they saw you doing things you shouldn’t have. They followed Brody enough to know his entire daily itinerary and to be able to infiltrate his household.
Jeszika: Exactly! There's gotta be a reason behind all of this, more than just this whole sins thing he's spewing.
Nikki sits up straighter.
Nikki: Do you think they’d come after Prey or the Red Hoods?
Jeszika: I hope not. For now, their assault seems only focused on us but warning Carrie wouldn’t hurt.
Bethany nods.
Bethany: Will do…
Ashley frowns.
Ashley: You’re not saying we need to be wary of our own friends and… are you?
Bethany shakes her head.
Bethany: No, I’m saying McBride seems to be a sadistic bastard who will not nesitate to use those we love against us, just look at Brody.
Jeszika: Yeah... I'll have to warn Melissa so he doesn’t get to her either.
Nikki: I’ll talk to Richie when they come back home.
Jeszika: So what do we all think of those Samoan twins? Do we trust them?
Ashley shrugs.
Ashley: So far, to me, they’re just there.
Nikki nods slowly.
Nikki: I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt at the moment. They made a helluva statement last show.
Jeszika: That’s true, they did.
Bethany nods to Jeszika.
Bethany: What do you think, Jezzy?
Jeszika: I don't know. Right now, I know nothing about them but if it comes to it, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
Bethany: I think, we should give them a shot too.
Jeszika: So what next, then?
Bethany shrugs.
Bethany: We should keep doing what we’re doing but we also keep digging into everyone involved. We need to find out what all we can to figure out what McBride’s real agenda is.
Ashley frowns again.
Ashley: His real agenda?
Bethany nods.
Bethany: Honestly, what more does he want? There has to be something considering he already pretty much has the company and can do whatever he wants there so what is his real attraction to use, Aerynn and everybody else he’s gone after? Is it all a smokescreen for some bigger picture or is he just having fun watching the world burn?
Bethany nods.
Bethany: Did everybody have the party talk yet?
Nikki nods.
Nikki: Yes, Richie didn’t seem to mind the idea at all.
Bethany smiles.
Bethany: Carrie was surprised but supportive.
Jeszika: Melissa was happy with the decision, she'll support anything that makes me a stronger woman.
Ashley shrugs.
Ashley: I didn’t tell Billy yet…
Bethany: Why not?
Jeszika: Are you scared of his reaction, Ash?
Ashley: No, I just…
Bethany looks at her sister dubiously.
Bethany: You didn’t get high again with him, did you?
Ashley shakes her head.
Ashley: I haven’t at all.
Jeszika: Then what is it, Ash?
Ashley shrugs.
Ashley: I just, I don’t know. He’s not home all the time and then when he is, we have better things to do than babble about getting loaded.
Bethany just shakes her head.
Bethany: So you’re too busy fucking him?
Jeszika: Well, that’s preferable to drugs.
Ashley: I am NOT too busy just fucking him!
Jeszika: Then what are you doing, Ash?
Ashley shrugs.
Ashley: I don’t know, it just didn’t seem important. He hasn’t brought it up and neither have I. It’s not like I’m having urges or anything.
Jeszika: Well that’s good then. Hurray for drug free us!
Bethany, Nikki and Ashley almost immediately start laughing. Jeszika joins in and the four friends enjoy their collective agreement.
