------ When Worlds Collide ------
-- She hated making this call. She hadn't hand a chance to call Pauly or his dad since her father had been admitted into the hospital some 6 months ago. She did, however, keep the shipments rolling. She finally got a free minute from the bullshit-ness that was her current job and pulled out a pre-paid cell phone.
-- She scrolled down to Pauly's name and hit send. And then waited for him to answer the phone.
Pauly: "Aerynn?"
-- The guy on the other end answers and she smiled lightly at the sound of the man's Irish lilt.
Aerynn: "Pauly."
-- She moved to lean against a the open doorway to the balcony of the hotel room she was currently in. She held the phone up to her ear with one hand and wrapped the other around her midsection.
Aerynn: "How are ye, Pauly? How's yer da?"
Pauly: "Another day at work. Da is good. He sends his love to you and yer Da. By the way how is he?"
-- She winced slightly when Pauly, her oldest and closest friend, asked about her father. A frown creasing her forehead.
Aerynn: "He's no' good, Pauly. Been in tha hospice goin' on six months now."
-- She hated breaking news like this. And knew the barrage of questions of why she waited so long to call were going to start. She shook her head slightly and jumped ahead of them.
Aerynn: "Tell Uncle Philip I love 'im, too. I wanted tae call an' let ye know tha' tha parts fer his Jag are on tha way. Should be 'bout two weeks. Whot wit' customs an' all."
Pauly: "Aye I'm mad. Ye know we would be helpin' ye. I'm coming with the shipment this time. My da will stay here and handle things on this end. What exactly is wrong with Uncle Connor? And Da says no rush on the parts."
-- Pauly begins to pace back an forth as four men are loading the crates onto the truck. Glocks, Ak47s, German snipers, and RPGs were all being loaded. She winced again when Pauly pretty much tore down her defenses in less than thirty seconds.
Aerynn: "Cancer. Finally go' tha best o' him."
-- She waved slightly. Even though she knew he couldn't actually SEE her.
Aerynn: "Aye, I know ye would've. But Pauly, this is my cross tae bare. Nae yers 'r yer da's. An' since ma died, he kinda pulled away from it all. I practically begged him tae lemme call Uncle Philip. He flat out refused."
-- She growled softly and pushed away from the sliding glass door's frame. Moving further out onto the balcony, she stared at the lights of Vegas below.
Aerynn: "An' whot brings ye wit' tha next shipment?"
-- Though, with him being here, it would make it easier for her to put her plan in motion. "Patience.", she kept telling herself. That's all she needed. Just a little patience.
Pauly: "Da wants me there first hand. Been moving up since ye left. And now with your Da off his feet, I'll be taking his spot. Running things on yer end now. That's why. We fly out tomorrow mornin'. I'll be seeing ye by tomorrow night."
Aerynn: "T'morrow night? Pauly, I'm in Vegas at tha moment. I can't jus' hop a plane an' meet ye in Boston."
-- She let out an audible sigh and cracked her neck.
Aerynn: "Look, Pauly, I had tae take on a job. I'm body-guardin' this uppity pretty rich white boy. Name's Brody Montgomery. Any how, along wit' guardin' this scum-bag, I've also joined a wrestlin' company called Unchained Wrestling Alliance. It's small, but it's new."
-- She laughed lightly.
Aerynn: "Hey, maybe ye could come meet me in Vegas. Once tha other business is taken care of, tha' is."
-- Pauly smiles on the other end of the phone.
Pauly: "I'll gladly join ye in Vegas. All I need to do is make sure things get to Boston. Then ye will be seeing me soon. I'm on the quickest flight to ye Aerynn. You think I'm coming to the states and not seeing ye? Silly girl."
-- Pauly wrapped things up at the barn. Jumped in his own car and kept talking.
Pauly: "And ye bodyguarding? Guess I'll new to stick around so you have someone looking of for you!"
-- She laughed. There was a reason Pauly was her oldest and closest friend.. It was because only HE understood her. It was Pauly who stood in place of a heavy bag when was barely able to reach one in the first place. It was Pauly who had she got up every morning to go to her training sessions. And, it was Pauly who covered for her when her mother suspected that she was fighting in the first place.
Aerynn: "Aye, I'm body guardin'. An' hey, it pays tha bills. Ye an' yer da know I won't take any hand-outs."
-- She reached out and placed her free hand onto the bar of the railing and leaned forward. Over the top. Not a lot, just enough so that she could see down to the street WAAAAAAAAAAY below.
Aerynn: "'Sides, if ye did come tae tha states an' didn't come see me, I'd hunt ye down an' tie yer ears 'round yer throat."
-- Pauly now arrive at his house and begins to pack his bags.
Pauly: "Calm yer tits girl. Ye know I'll be seeing you. Seems to be I'll be sticking around to new place your wrestling for. Ye know I always like a good fight."
-- A laugh snarked out from her side.
Aerynn: "This ain't like us fightin' in tha yard, Pauly. An' it ain't like MMA fightin' either. Wrestlin' is.. different. Anyways, ye might like it. I dunno. I know I've been workin' on me own stuff an' I'm enjoyin' it."
-- She laughed when he told her to calm her tits.
Aerynn: "Yer lucky yer me best friend, boy-o."
-- She smiled and nodded lightly.
Aerynn: "Right, get tha shipment done an' then head here tae Vegas."
-- She gave him the information of the hotel she was staying in and then rang off. Pauly laughed as he placeed his phone back in his pocket.
