J-Shades is sitting in his Apartment. It’ll be a few days before he has to leave for Seattle, and he’s decided to take a day off, he might not get the chance to have a peaceful rest in his own home in a while. He’d finally gotten signed to a Wrestling promotion, The UWA, and he was booked for a match in a little over a week. He didn't know what to expect from the future, but he was damn sure excited for it.
Just then the phone rang. Jay looked over to the desk beside him to look at the Caller I.D.
SAMMY J.
He expected this call. This conversation was going to be about the one thing Jay did know about his future: His first opponent.
A few days ago Samuel had called Jay to tell him who he had a match against. Though excited, he was a little more than surprised that his first match was against Skylar; a women.
Jay: (picks up the phone, trying to sound as happy as he can) Hey Sammy!
Samuel: Hey Jay, how’re things going?
Jay: It’s all good here. Just relaxing for a day before I have to start packing and heading out to the west.
Samuel: That’s good. Some time to clear your head before jumping into this world should help.
Jay: I thought so. I’m glad to hear from you and all, but I’m sure you have a reason for calling me, right?
Samuel: Yea, just wanted to see how you were feeling about your match. You sounded excited when I told you about it but not… completely excited.
Jay: Trust me, I’m thrilled to be here and get a chance to do what I've always wanted to! And I’m happy to be in the opening match, it’s just… I mean I knew that men and women wrestled each other here and all-
Samuel: You just weren't expecting you’d have to face one.
Jay: exactly. At least not this soon! I don't think I've ever hit a girl... ever! I don’t even know much about this girl.
Samuel: Oh don’t worry Jay, I wouldn't put you in a match with her if I didn't think you could take her.
Jay: I know but I… wait, what? No, that’s not what I’m worried about-
Samuel: Well you've got nothing to worry about then! Skylar earned her way in here just like everyone else here, you two are gonna go in there and put on a hell of a match, cause you both have the talent to get the win. Don’t underestimate her. She can handle herself.
Jay: Alright Sammy, I’ll take your word for it.
Samuel: Good. Soon you won’t even remember having a problem with this.
Jay: I hope so… if you talk to her tell her I said good luck.
Samuel: I will, and Good luck to you too!
Jay: Thanks. See you around Sammy.
Jay: See ya Jay.
Jay hangs up the phone. He looks around then sighs. Then he can’t help but laugh.
Jay: (to himself) Jesus Christ, my parents flipped a shit when I told them I wanted to be a wrestler, wait til' they find out I plan on beating up a girl…
