I could hear the phone ringing, but the last thing I wanted to do was get out of bed. I pulled the covers up and the pillow over my head trying to drown out the noise. The annoying sound of ringing was still annoying me while I was trying to sleep and I was just about to give in and answer and it stopped. I breathed a sigh of relief and rolled onto my side curling up to get more sleep. I had the blinds and curtains closed so all I could see was darkness, and I loved that. I had no sense of the hour nor did I care.. I was tired, it was all that mattered to me. I could feel myself relaxing... slipping back into an unconscious state... and then the phone started to ring again. I rolled onto my back and both hands came slamming into my mattress.
“Are you kidding me!?”
If there was one thing I hated, it was being woken up when I was completely exhausted. A high pitched scream filled the room as I let out some frustration before grabbing the phone roughly and answering the call.
“This had better be important or I swear to...”
I paused hearing Tidus Howe on the other end. Tidus is my manager, and he is great to work with. He was actually working with a few of us currently and while two of his clients were in the same place, myself and another were elsewhere. Slowly but surely House of Howe was going to be known in the indy circuit, it was only a matter of time.
Wanting to continue to sleep, I put the phone onto speaker and continued the conversation that was currently one sided as he waited for me to speak again.
“I know I was supposed to head out there, but I don't think I am up for it right now. I think I might just stay home instead and catch up on sleep.”
“I can not let you do that Kaylyn. Listen, I get that you are becoming discouraged at the moment, it is understandable, but this is why you need to get your ass out of bed and get on the next flight out. Jason is all set to step into the ring with you, and I am sure I can get Stefan and Michael also. You know that everyone in the House of Howe will help you train in any way possible. We are here for you, not against you.”
Howe was still talking, but I wasn't catching everything he was saying. I knew he was right with what he had said so far. I picked up my laptop off the bedside and opened it up. I continued to give a murmur here and there so he thought I was still listening to him, while I got into contact with a friend of mine who could fly me out there within the next few hours.
“That sounds good.”
“Damn it Kaylyn!”
The tone in his voice caused me to jump, and I spoke quickly after recovering.
“What Tidus? I heard what you were saying.”
“Really? You think it sounds good that Jason is telling everyone about your past sexual experiences with him?”
“HE WHAT!?!”
“Relax Kaylyn, he isn't. I said it to prove a point.. you weren't listening to a word I was saying.”
“I was listening, and you're right. I will be on the plane in about an hour, so see you all this evening.”
“I hope you make it. I need your head on straight. You keep Jason in gear to an extent, and he needs to be focused as do you. You have it in you to be the best again, you just need to believe it yourself.”
Before I could even say anything to him the phone call was disconnected and I sat there debating laying back down and getting sleep, but the thought of seeing Jason again woke me up quickly.
Four Days Later...
Because we are not around each other all the time, each and every time I see him my feelings just get stronger. I liked that. It was much better then arguing because I would get jealous of who he was talking to, or vice verse. We didn't have those petty problems anymore. It was odd too, because one might think that with us not seeing one another, the other might be doing something elsewhere... but that wasn't the case. I trusted him, and to my knowledge he trusted me as well.
“I wish I didn't have to leave.”
I remembered the other reason I didn't want to go in the first place... leaving was always difficult to do.
“Then don't.”
I laughed as Jason spoke before kissing my forehead and pulling me closer to him. I loved laying in his arms, it's a place I never wanted to leave... a place I knew I had missed when he was gone.
“If I didn't have a match back in California, I would stay, and you know it. After my match though, I will give you a call and figure things out. No matter what, next time I am cooking you a meal. We don't have to keep going out.”
It's not like we went out every night, and after all we were catching up on all those years of nothing but sex. We needed the time to actually build the relationship right. I did miss the sex part... but I could hold off. It was worth it to me.
I didn't know how much time had past while I sat there looking up at the sky. It was late, and the stars were out. We had went out hours ago and took a drive to the small airport to wait for my flight. Jason was spending as much time with me as possible, and I loved it. It was time for it all to come to an end though..
“Kay, he's here babe.”
I opened my eyes not even realizing I had gotten that comfortable and I had fallen asleep. Standing up and stretching out I groaned before reaching for my things only for Steve to grab them all from me.
“I got it Miss Evans. I will see you on the plane.”
“Thanks you Steve..”
I stated before looking at Jason and wrapping my arms around him.
“See you in a few days.”
“You know it.”
I pushed up on my toes and placed my lips onto his own just briefly before touching ground and moving away starting to walk slowly towards the plane. I could hear Jack barking from inside probably wondering where I was. I stopped though and turned around to look at Jason. I couldn't leave just yet... something wasn't right. I didn't even notice as I started to run back to him until I jumped into his arms and wrapped my legs around him as I kissed him with a fire that I had always had in the past. His hands running along my back and ass had to suffice, because that was as far as things were going for now. It would hold me over until I seen him again at least... I hope.
Unwrapping my legs I touched ground once more and pulled my lips from his. I had a smile on my face and I laughed softly before biting on my lower lip. I took a few steps back before speaking.
“Well, bye.”
I had a soft giggle escape me as I turned and headed towards the plane once more, not stopping until I was aboard and looking at him while the door shut, waving softly until I couldn't see him anymore. I felt like a school girl, even still, with her first crush.
As I sat down I leaned my head back against the seat and closed my eyes thinking about the match that was to come. I didn't realize that I had started to speak out loud, nor did I care, because I was the only one here.
“I can not wait to step into the ring again... these last few matches haven't been good for me, but this one I just have a good feeling about. I have a little bone to pick with this Garbage Man fellow. Stupid Jackass want's to think that I am nothing. I can't wait to show him who exactly I am. He must have forgotten that while I might be a female.. I wasn't the weakest one in our match.. I wasn't the one that was pinned. His dumb ass was the one who couldn't kick out before the three count was made. I have no problem giving props to those who deserve it, but this guy... god he is such a prick. How can someone NOT notice me? I think he is just pissed because he was too busy watching me in his debut match and couldn't kick out because he was too worried about that feeling that was running through his body. I get it, many boys get turned on after touching someone as perfect as myself in the ring... but damn... at least try and put up a fight while in the ring. What he needs to do is focus on the match and worry about beating off after hes back in the locker room in his own privacy. This WOMAN that he wanted so much to dismiss, is going to be walking all over him, and when its all said and done he is going to realize that he is a little piece of shit that needs to be tossed in the garbage. I tried to warn people not to take me for sweet and innocent... it's his problem now... time to be fooled.”
