It was dark outside the arena after Mayhem, and Donzig was sitting with a bored look on the edge of the loading dock as in the background the UWA crew was loading the trucks. He flicked some ashes from his cigar, scowling to himself as his hand still taped from his match curled into a fist before slowly uncurling once more. Suddenly a short woman with dark hair approached, flashing him a smile. "Hey, I am Summer Brennan from Pro Wrestling Weekly, and I have a few questions for y--"
She fell silent as Donzig's black gaze settled on her, his eyes narrowing before he lifted the cigar again. He chewed on the end, staring at her before he grunted softly. A nod as he waved his hand. "Questions, sure why not."
Summer wetted her lips, after all Donzig was notorious for not speaking to magazines. She squared her shoulders, and lifted her tablet. "Okay, why did you sign with UWA?"
"Ennui." Donzig replied, and she blinked.
"What?"
"Ennui. A feeling of listlessness and dissatisfaction arising from a lack of occupation or excitement. Money? I don't need any more money, I could retire seven fucking times. Power? I have been at the pinnacle of power, and frankly it gets old. Revenge? Aside from my disgust with fans, and maybe wrestling reporters? I am not too angry with UWA."
Donzig paused, staring at the girl. She swallowed, looking down before she continued. "So you are here because--"
"Because I am bored, yes. It is not rocket science, woman." Donzig snapped, and she flinched as he lifted the cigar to take a long drag. Smoke swirled around him, and he stared at her as she looked at the tablet.
"I enjoyed your match with Nick Daniels, you two put on a hell of a sho--"
Donzig's eyes narrowed, and she fell silent as his cheek twitched. "Yes. Yes, we did. And Nick Daniels squeaked out a win, I believe I may have under-estimated him."
Summer spoke up. "You know in your career you have shown a tendency to do that, some people say you have a god complex. "
She trailed off as Donzig was actually staring at her again, his lip curling into a slight smile as he leaned forward very slowly. Leather creaking as he snorted, almost a laugh. "You know you have a strange tendency to say the wrong thing. But what you and everyone else, and especially Nick Daniels need to know is this."
A pause, and Summer stepped closer before stumbling back as Donzig roared. "In my first fucking match inside a goddamned ring in like 4 years, I took the star of this hellhole to the brink of defeat! And I will happily, very fucking happily do it again! Oh, I am looking forward to it!"
The crew was staring, and Summer looked nervous as Donzig again fell silent. And he lifted his cigar, puffing away again before she raked a hand through her dark hair. Mouthing 'You can do this!' to herself. "Aren't you afraid? I mean Nick Daniels ambushed several other stars tonight and--"
Donzig snorted. "Fear? Fear would be something. Anymore? I don't feel anything don't you get that. Daniels can ambush me, sneak attack me, whatever he wants to do. I welcome it, in fact? Nick Daniels should get me, before I get Nick Daniels."
Summer blinked. "Did you just threaten Nick Daniels?"
Donzig smiled, a slow evil smile as he ground his cigar down into the cement of the dock. His fingers grinding as smoke swirled up from the ashes, and he hissed softly. "Threaten? I am a threat don't you get that? My entire presence in UWA is a threat, I am here to spread chaos, pain, and suffering. I bring fucking ruin."
Summer swallowed, and she glanced around before she lifted the tablet again. "Your next match is--"
Donzig grunted, dusting off his hands after throwing the butt of the cigar away. "Jessica Gotier" He pronounced it 'GO-TIER', and he nodded absently.
Summer paused, looking up her face bathed in the glow of the e-tablet. "I think it is pronounced 'GO-SHAY'. "
Donzig stared, then snorted with a smirk. "Really? You know in my entire career, I have never wrestled a woman. I mean I have smacked women, threatened women, once I powerbombed David Slam II's girlfriend into some ringstairs."
Summer smiled, nodding. "I remember that! She was pregnant--"
Donzig's scowl froze her, and he sniffed. "Allegedly. And Slam dumped her ass to go be the Board of Director's pet lackie or some shit right after, and so in my book? I did her and that kid a fucking favor."
Summer's jaw dropped open, and Donzig waved his hand angrily before he continued. "The point is, if Miss Gotier thinks I am going to take it easy on her because she is some cute little blonde with a great set of assets? She is very sadly mistaken."
Summer took it all done, and Donzig started to unwrap the tape from his hands. "You see I just took the star of the UWA to the edge of defeat. So with all due respect to hit-girl, I fail to see what someone I have 90 pounds on is going to do. Especially, when I am in a bad fucking mood."
Summer nodded again, this was after all what she came her for so her fingers flew across the screen of her tablet. And Donzig stared at her, his fingers flexing as he started to toss the tape aside. "But the fact is? I suspect Miss Gotier is going to need more of a demonstration. So Summer Brennan, how much do you weigh?"
"About 120." Summer said as she kept typing, and then she stopped. Her eyes flicked upwards, and Donzig said nothing as he stared at her with that blank emotionless face. His eyes narrowed slightly, black gaze blazing with fury. And then she started to back up before turning to break into a run, and Donzig laughed.
"Interview over."
