“…Aye. I got it.”-- She paused for a moment. Listening. Nodding softly.
“An’ yer sure this is one hundred percent legal?”
-- An almost sinister smile formed as she listened to the unknown caller on the other end. She stood up from the end of her bed, a piece of paper in hand, and began to pace back and forth. She gave the caller one more unseen nod before speaking once more.
“Thank ye. So very much. I appreciate yer help.”
-- She ended the call and tossed the phone onto the bed that she’d just vacated. Her attention moving down to the paper she held in her hand once more. After a brief silence, the soft sound of laughter filled the room….
>>> Early A.M., 14 January 2014 – A Little White Wedding Chapel, Las Vegas, NV <<<
-- She stood at the back of the room while the “party goers” all stood up at the front. Her arms were crossed over her chest as she leaned back against the door frame and watched the scene of the couple unfold.??: “…take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband? To have and to hold. In sickness and in heath?”
Woman: “I do.”
??: “And do you, Broderick Montgomery the Third, take this women to be your lawfully wedded wife?”
-- On and on the man droned on with the vows.
Brody: “I do.”
??: “By the power vested in me by the great state of Nevada… I now pronounce you.. Husband.. And wife.”
-- The man leaned forward a bit.
??: “You may kiss your bride.”
-- And it was at that moment that Aerynn turned and walked out of the room. She really didn’t feel like puking in the middle of this place right now. She headed out of the building and stood outside in the fresh air. After a few minutes, Brody and his entourage came out. As he passed by her, he absently handed her the piece of paper that confirmed that he had indeed gotten married. She glanced over to him and his new “bride” and physically shuddered….

-- Aerynn looked down at the paper once again and simply shook her head. She moved back over to her suitcase and replaced it back into a small compartment.Aerynn: “Ye’ll be safe an’ sound right here where no one can find ye.”
-- She closed the suitcase and relocked it. Then she reached over and picked up the phone. She scroll through her list of contacts and stopped at the one she was looking for. Pressing “Send”, she brought the phone up to her ear and waited for someone on the other end to answer.
??: “Good afternoon, Miss Donnelly. What can I do for you today?”
-- Aerynn smiled as the smooth voice of the older man came across the line.
Aerynn: “Is yer offer to buy out me contract still on tha table?”
??: “You know it is, Miss Donnelly. I don’t joke about money. You should know that by now.”
Aerynn: “Good. I want tae meet wit’ ye an’ discuss tha terms. Are ye free this afternoon?”
??: “I have some free time this evening. How does dinner sound? Say… nine o’clock?”
Aerynn: “Nine is perfect.”
??: “Good. I’ll send a car for you. Oh, and Miss Donnelly…”
Aerynn: “Aye?”
??: “Wear something.. beautiful.”
-- And then the line went silent. Aerynn pulled the phone away from her ear and smiled brightly. She headed out of her room, turning to make sure the door was locked and secure. She made her way down to the front desk and made a few inquiries. Only to look back to the front desk girl and requested her manager.
-- After about twenty minutes of speaking to the gentleman, she was content with the knowledge that no one, not even Brody himself, would be able to get into her room. As she started to walk away, she suddenly stopped and headed back to her room.
-- Once there, she moved back over to her suitcase, unlocked it and retrieved the envelope that held that very special piece of paper. Only to turn and head out once again.
-- She headed back to the front desk, where upon arriving; she requested a safe deposit box to store the envelope in. Once that business was conducted, and she had the key tucked safely in her boot, she headed out of the hotel.
-- A few hours later, she was standing in the lobby of the hotel. Waiting. As she stood there, a few people came up to her and asked for her autograph. They’d seen the video stream of the show and absolutely loved her!
-- At first, people didn't recognize her because she wasn't dressed in her usual jeans and tank top.
-- No, tonight she was dressed in a beautiful black cocktail dress. One that hugged her body in all the right places. A corseted top with the skirt flaring out at the hips and falling to just above the knee. With it, she wore a pair of black heels and was carrying a matching black clutch purse. Around her neck was a simple silver chain with a pair of rings and a pair of silver tear drop earrings.
-- She didn't have long to wait as, after fifteen minutes of signing autographs and taking pictures with her fans, the driver she was waiting for came inside. She nodded to him and turned to speak to the fans.
Aerynn: “I’m so sorry e’eryone. But I have an important meeting tae attend.”
-- With that, she turned and headed out of the hotel. Allowing the driver to escort her to the limo that waited outside….
>>> Midnight, 30 January 2014 <<<
-- She was finally back at the hotel. She headed back to her room and began to undress from her dinner-meeting. As she was sitting on the edge of her bed, her phone rang.-- She reached over to pick it up….
Aerynn: “Hello?”
??: “Miss Donnelly?”
-- The voice that came across the line was distorted.
Aerynn: “Aye.”
??: “Miss Aerynn Donnelly?”
-- A small sigh of frustration and tiredness slipped out.
Aerynn: “Aye. This is Aerynn. Whot can I do fer ye?”
-- A small silence greeted her before the caller continued.
??: “Miss Donnelly, I’m calling on behalf of my client. Who, for the moment, will remain anonymous.”
-- Aerynn arched her brow slightly as she listened.
Aerynn: “An’ whot does yer client wan’ wit’ me?”
??: “The documents aren’t safe. You need to move them. To a secure location. Now.”
-- And then the line goes dead.
-- Aerynn sat there a few minutes just staring at the phone. She didn’t like the fact that someone else knew about the documents that she had in her possession. And what really unnerved her, was the fact that they were telling her that they needed to be moved to a secure location.
-- She looked down at her watch and seen that it was just past midnight. No banks would be open right now. And surely, Pauly was either sleeping, working or.. Well, partying. She didn’t want to bother him this late at night, but something needed to be done. Those documents HAD to be moved.
-- Figuring that Brody was most likely busy as well, she made the decision that she was going to move hotels. Or at least make it seem like she had. She stood up from the bed and quickly changed out of her evening attire and into a pair of jeans, her typical tank top and her boots. She retrieved her suitcase from the closet and packed.
-- That done, she pulled on her leather jacket and left the room. She knew that she’d be charged for the night, and she was ok with that. Once down at the front desk, she informed the front desk clerk that she was checking out and that she understood she’d be charged for the night. Yes, yes. She was checking out of her room weeks earlier than expected. No, she didn’t need the bill forwarded, she was paying for the stay in cash. And.. She needed the envelope that was in the hotel’s safety deposit area. She produced her key and within moments, she was presented with the envelope.
-- She double checked the contents to make sure that they hadn’t been tampered with, paid her bill and left. She also requested that the hotel hold her suitcase for her until she contacted them as to where they could forward it to.
-- As she was heading out to her bike, she sent a quick, if not cryptic, text message to Brody. Simply telling him that an emergency came up and that she’d see him in Fort Collins for the next Monday Night Mayhem show. She tucked the envelope into a hidden part of her leather jacket, adjusted her backpack and started the bike….
>>> 2 p.m., 2 February 2014 – Roswell, NM <<<
-- Aerynn was sitting against her bike outside a run down motel. She pulled her cell phone out and dialed up the one person she’d been needing to talk to since leaving Vegas. Her best friend, Pauly. And after pressing “Send”, she waited for him to answer.Pauly: “Hey, girl. What’s up?”
Aerynn: “Pauly, I need some information. An’ I need ye not tae ask why an’ whot for.”
-- Of course, this concerned Pauly, but he simply agreed.
Pauly: “Sure, what ya need, girl?”
Aerynn: “I need tae get in touch wit’ yer da. It’s verra important tha’ I get in touch wit’ him.. Like yesterday.”
Pauly: “Sure sure. Give me a lil bit. Where are ya now?”
Aerynn: “Dinna worry ‘bout tha’ right now. Jus’, please.. Pauly, I need ye tae hurry on this.”
Pauly: “Alright alright. Can ya give me a couple of hours?”
Aerynn: “Aye, I can do tha’. Call me soon as ye get ‘hold o’ yer da.”
-- And with that, she hung up.
-- After that, she looked over to her hotel room and frowned. She needed to leave. She’d been there long enough as it was. And she honestly wasn’t sure if Brody had any way of finding her where-abouts, so she retrieved her backpack from the room and headed off. She figured she could get about two hours away before Pauly called.
-- Once she figured she was safe enough, she pulled into the parking lot of a little mom and pop diner and waited.
As she sat in the booth of the diner waiting for her order to be cooked and delivered, she thought…
“Ya know, Jeszika, I wanted tae like ye. I really did. Granted, our ‘first’ meetin’ didn’t go all tha’ great. But ye need tae realize, I was simply doin’ my job. Now, it’s no secret I dislike my current situation. But, I take me job verra seriously. An’ honey, ye made it only too easy tae dislike ye after tha’ first meetin’ in Brody’s bedroom. Ye an’ yer little rag-tag group o’ friends. But, this isna ‘bout them. This is ‘bout me an’ you.”
-- She took a drink of her coffee and sat the cup back down gently on the table.
“Ye see, Jeszika, tha three o’ ye jus’ had tae take advantage o’ tha fact tha’ Oliver wasna happy ‘bout wha’ happened any more than ye were. Howe’er, ye all need tae realize.. Yer a grown woman. Old ‘nough tae make yer own decisions. Old ‘nough tae reap wha’ ye’ve sown. An’ old ‘nough tae have, an’ keep, yer own secrets.”
-- Aerynn laughed softly to herself.
“Ye see, we all have skeletons in our closets. An’ ye, Jeszika Gautier, are nae any different than tha rest o’ us. Nae me. Pauly. Fabian ‘r e’en Brody. Howe’er, there are certain people who can find out whot those skeletons are. They can find those skeletons an’ use ‘em to their own advantage. So, tha question ye need tae be askin’ yerself? ‘Does she.. ‘r does she not.. know any o’ mine?’”
-- Aerynn smirked a bit and glanced up to see that the waitress was heading in her direction with her order. She sat back a bit as the young girl sat her plate of food down before her and smiled before turning away with the simple request that she enjoy the meal.
“Now, I know I go’ lucky in my match wit’ Fabian. I’ll e’en go so far as tae say.. I got me ass handed to me. An’, I also know tha’ ye have quite a bit more experience than I got in tha ring.. But on Monday Night Mayhem, ye’ll find out tha’ I got passion. I got heart. I got a passion tha’ burns so god damn bright, it’ll blind ye. I do hope yer ready fer tha match o’ yer life. Because I dinna plan tae hold anythin’ back. I sure hope ye dinna either.”
-- And just as she lifted her fork up to take a bite of her meal…Her phone rang…
