“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press on! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”- Calvin Coolidge

Harsh Desert winds blow heavily. Sand is kicking around quite roughly. No vegetation is really seen except some tumbleweeds rolling by here and there. In the distance the sound of a bike is hard. The bike seems to be growing closer and closer but nothing is seen quite yet. The camera pans around and sees nothing but dusty flying everywhere. Then in the distance, something is seen approaching quickly. A lone rider. Pauly is seen speeding through the sandstorm brewing, not with his partners by his side. Not with their new attack dogs by his side. He rides alone this time.
{Whot went wrong? I mean I had tha match in tha bag. I let her finish me off with something as simple as a small package? It wasn’t me mistake of underminding her. I went inta tha match knowing anythin’ kinna happen. Not like I went in expecting tae just walk out as television champion. Tha little twat juss got tha best of me. She capatalized on a small winda and wealsed her way out of Mayhem with thot gold still ‘round her waist. She is a tricky little gash I must add. Big ups tae her on the successful defense. Gotta give her thot one. She earned it and showed people her winnin’ tha belt wasn’t a fluke.}
Now the sound of more vehicles are heard from behind Pauly. Aerynn? Shonn? Donnie and Davis? Pauly tries to look back but the sand kicking around is too much for him to really tell who is approaching him. So he thinks nothing of it and keeps on riding forward.
{Thas in tha past now. Time tae look what ye guys upstairs are throwin’ at this lad this show. Sentinel. Aye, Sentinel. Round three. Maybe third time’s a charm? Maybe not. Guess we not ginna know till the bell sounds atv tha end of tha match aye?}
The sound of the vehicles grows closers. Three vehicles. Pauly now see it is not his friends but still thinks nothing of it. Bad idea. One speeds around him and cuts in front of him. He tries to yell but nothing is heard between all the sounds from the bike and cars and the sandstorm kicking around. The others pull along side of him. He looks and just has a feeling this is going to end bad for him. The car in front slams on its brakes and so does Pauly just in time so he doesn’t slam into the bumper of the car. The other cars vlock him from getting away from the back. Pauly stops the bike and puts the kickstand up. He slowly takes his helmet off and reaches inside his coat, keeping his hand on what is believed to be some kind of gun.
Pauly-”Whot is this shite?”
The sunroofs open on all the vehicles and three men pop out and all point fully automatic rifles at Pauly. He now pulls out his handgun, but obviously knows he stands no chance of winning this gunfight, but still keeps his guard up. Then a man exits one of the vehicles. This man, obviously higher up on some chain then the men pointing the guns at him. The man approaches Pauly and slowly take the sunglasses off that are covering his eyes.
-”I suggest you put down the gun Mr. O’Connor.”
Pauly-”Do ye? And if I don’t?”
-”Do you really think you will make it out of here alive if you do not comply?”
Pauly grits his teeth and places the handgun back on the inside pocket of his coat.
Pauly-”Shite.”
-”Smart decision Mr. O’Connor. Now do you know who I am?”
Pauly-”Not a damn clue lad. Maybe if ye tell me I can connect some dots. I’ve made some friends, even more enemies since being in tha states . By the way ye approached me, I’d say yer the latter of the two. Aye?”
-”Correct.”
Pauly-”So whot did I do tae piss ye off kind sir?”
-”You murdered my father. Franklin Lamia ring a bell? Well I’m his son, Little Frankie! And we got a score to settle.”
You can tell a worryful looks grows upon Pauly’s face.
Pauly-”I dinna know whot ye talking about lad. Yer father was murdered while in prison. Look at tha records. I wasn’t inside at the time he was killed.”
The man grows more and more angry as Pauly seems to be beating around the bush.
Little Frankie-”You know what I mean you Irish asshole! You had your friend take him out after my father attempted to send his men after you. You got away from me last time!”
Pauly now puts two and two together and realizes Mr. Lamia sent his number two, his only son to try and take him out. Pauly just escaped with his life from that assassination attempt.
Pauly-”Well here’s ye chance tae finish tae job Frankie boy. Do what ye need tae do.”
LIttle Frankie begins to crack up and Pauly’s faces grows a little confused.
Frankie-”I am not here to kill you Mr. O’Connor.”
The look of confusion grows even more on Pauly’s face. If the man is not here to kill him than what is he here to do?
Frankie-”In face. I am here to rebuild the relationship you and my father had before this shit storm happened.”
Pauly-”Sorry tae dissappoint ye Frankie boy, but I dinna operate in thot business anymore. Me focus has turned more towards tha legal sides of things now. Ye gunna have tae find ye guns elsewhere.”
Frankie laughs for a moment before replying to Pauly.
Frankie-”You act like you have a choice. Your family gets a hold of guns that are vital to my family keeping our territories safe from being over run. As much as I would like to put a bullet between your Irish fucking eyes right now, I need you to contact your father. Tell him you found a new distributer. The guns we are buying now are shit. Barely able to keep the blacks and Chinese off our backs. They are getting ballsy and pushing on to our turf. We need the russian stock again to keep them at bay. And your family is the only one able to get a hold of what worked for my father.”
Pauly-”And ye can’t do that yerself?”
Frankie-”Well with the events that occured with my father before he went to prison. And the events that occured while he was inside. Yer father and his organization don’t reply back to my family’s reach outs, but if you, The prodigal son reaches out. That’s a different story.”
Pauly-”Well we got a wee problem Frankie.”
The anger begins to grow on Frankie’s face but not in Paulys. Pauly is rather calm because he knows he speaks the truth.
Frankie-”And what would this little problem be huh?”
Pauly-”Me Da knows our relationship with your family was severed when ye guys tried tha end me life. Yer Da got wrong information. Wasn’t me who flipped mon ye tae tha feds. Musta been someone from inside yer family.”
Frankie-”Bullshit you mick bastard!”
Frankie’s voice grows louder and the anger is more intense than a few moments ago. Pauly? Still calm.
Pauly-”Nae, I’m telling ye tha truth Frankie. Have yer guy hack the feds database and look at tha report. Wasn’t me nor anyone in me old crew.”
Frankie-”Well we will have to wait and see.”
Pauly-”Do whot ye need tae do Frankie. But like I said, me Da not gunna revive thot relationship.”
Frankie has begun to calm down a bit but the anger lingers in the air.
Frankie-”Well if what you are saying is true about it being an internal threat. I’ll handle that on my end. Then I need you to set a meet with your father. So we can settle the beef and continue the profitable relationship that would have been. Now if you are lying, I’ll make sure my guys get the job done this time around. No mistakes.”
Pauly-”Like I said do whot ye need tae do, but I am telling ye the truth lad. Ye look inta it and get back tae me, but one more problem.”
Whoops. Anger grows again inside of Frankie.
Frankie-”What the hell now?”
Pauly-”I dinna got out of thot life. SO I kinna not be yer contact. Everything turns out fine I’ll let ye meet who will be. My focus is on tha more legitimate side of the law now man. I am putting all me focus inta rasslin’”
And it flourishes. Frankie begins to chuckle just a bit with what Pauly said.
Frankie-”Wrestling? Where’s the money in that?”
Pauly-”Not about the money Frankie.”
Frankie-”If not the money than what the hell is it about?”
Pauly-”Staying out of trouble. Been in the thick of the shit since I was a wee lad. Dinna wanna live like thot me whole life. I’ve turned a new leaf…..Fer the most part. Anyways, get back to me after you have yer guys do their diggin’, I’ll set up the met, but after that. I’m done. Aye?”
Frankie-”Fine. I’ll get back to you soon. Better hope you ain’t lying!”
Pauly-”I know I am not lying laddie. I’ll be hearing from ye soon. Now can I go?”
Frankie doesn’t reply, he just waves his hand, motioning for Pauly to be on his way. The two shake and Pauly places the helmet back on. The sound of his bike starts and he peels out of there like a bat out of hell.
The scene fades out with nothing to see but tons of dust kicking up.
______________________________________________________________________________
Now its Pauly’s turn. The scene comes in to him leaning on his bike, but not to the likes of Sentinel’s. Where Pauly is leaning on his street bike and Sentinel was leaning on his hog.
Pauly-”The Silent Destroyer has a voice.”
Pauly reaches into his jacket and pulls out a cigarette from the pack inside along with a lighter. He does not put the smoke to his lip just yet. He speaks for a few more moments.
Pauly-”And ye made some really good points with yer voice I must say lad. Ye do have two victories in our two meetins. Ye also do not need ta try and show tha world ye got whot it takes tae defeat me. Everyone has seen it happen before….twice.”
Now he places the cigarette to his lips and sparks the end of it. A few quick pulls and exhales as he continues to speak.
Pauly-”Many mistakes were made by me in our first two meetings. I know that. Ye know that. Hell ye capitalized on those mistakes both times.”
Pauly ashes the cigarette and takes a long drag. A cloud of smoke releases from his mouth as he goes forth with his thoughts.
Pauly-”Now I have gone back. Watched tha tapes many a time over, in hopes tae 1find what I did wrong. In hopes tae not make tha same mistakes fer a third time. I have studied our matches since I have found out we ginna be fightin’ inside tha squared circle once again.”
Another drag of the smoke and another cloud exits his mouth.
Pauly-”Aye a fighter I am. Just like ye. Thas a respect thas mutual. Ye are one hell of a mna inside that ring. Many have felt tha devastating force ye deliver. Hell like ye said I have felt it twice. Ye think I woulda be smart and try tae weasle me way out of this one, aye?”
One last puff and Pauly drops the cigarette on the ground and estinguishes it on the bottom of his boot.
Pauly-”But no, like ye said. I dinna give up like some would. They may not show it, but ye can tell afta a few beatings from ye, they dinna wanna get in tha ring with ye if they kinna avoid it. Me? I was prayin fer this match. I am glad they allowed and booked this match. I nedd this match as much as ye. Tae prove I kinna find a way tae finally take down the beast. Maybe third time will be a charm. I believe it wioll be. I strive fer it tae be. I’ll push and push fer this tae be tha time I finally get tha best of an immovable object. I’ll finally break threw yer goldy defenses and once and fer all gain tha victory that has been running away from me fer the past two matches.”
A luagh, a tad bit sadistic comes from within Pauly as he crosses his arms.
Pauly-”To quote ye….Devotion to tha point of obession. Me devotion tae find a way tae defeat ye has over taken me. I have been workin’ on anythin I could think of. LIke I said I have watch tha tapes from our first two collisions over and over again. Spent that past few nights barely gettin’ any sleep. I need this Sentinel. Ye want me tae believe I can instill the thought of failure in yer head. Ye wont me tae grab yer ambition and make it me own. Make it me own tae strive and go fer broke? Well here’s tae it laddie. Ye will get everything I got. Will tha outcome be tha same? Most would believe so.”
He calms his demenor a bit as he grabs his helmet, but does not put it on. He holds it at his side as he still has more to speak on.
Pauly-”They wouyldn’t be wrong tae think that way. I’ll give them that. Guess only time will tell If I will ever get one over on the now non-Silent Destroyer. Now I am not ginna come say I am a whole new person. That I have changed and I will in facr defeat ye. Cuz as always, anything can happen. One doubt in my mind and ye will be a three time victor. One doubt in yers and I will finally get that first victory.”
Now he places the helmet on his head, but the visor is currently open.
Pauly-”Here’s tae it lad. Le’s tear the house down like we have in tha past. Show these people whot it is like when two people, as driven as we are, continue tae collide. An explosion will happen come Mayhem. I am looking forward tae it. And I know ye are too.”
The visor drops and Pauly gets on his bike. The engine roars loudly and the tires spin as the scene begins to fade out. It slowly goes black as once again he peels out of there and the finale shot is a cloud of dust rising in the air.
{Whot went wrong? I mean I had tha match in tha bag. I let her finish me off with something as simple as a small package? It wasn’t me mistake of underminding her.
