::“The Canadian Legend Kyle Travis is laying in the backseat of a car. He is laying there, in jeans and a t-shirt with his crowbar on his chest. He looks up at the roof of the vehicle, a black fabric, similar in color to the black leather seats he is laying across.::
::Outside it is night, some of the sky visible trough the open window. The only illumination is from the lights and businesses around him. However, as that seems to be quite a bit, as if every light on the street is on and cutting through the darkness.::
::Travis sighs.::
“I want to be surprised Vince. I really do. But truth be told, I am not surprised at all.
“No it doesn’t surprise me that Ashley Kenyon, one of the chosen ones who gets to be on every show is getting a shot at your championship despite the fact she is already getting a shot at the UWA Tag Team Championships. I will admit that she did beat the champion, and thus should be in line for a shot, just like everyone who has beaten Aerynn has gotten a shot at her.”
“Oh wait…they haven’t.”
::Travis chuckles a bit as he thinks back to having seen Fraser Freeman score a win over the UWA World Champion but nothing come of it.::
“It does not surprise me that I state I have a rematch and was never actually beaten for the North American Championship and yet no one decides to let that happen. Well, I choose to be heard in my demands for the rematch, because if I do not get it, then UWA backstage interviewer Stephanie Miller does not WALK out of the building.”
::There is no hint of hesitation, no hint that he would not do exactly what he said he would in his voice, and that he would not regret a single moment of it.::
“And honestly Georgio, I do not care if I get suspended, because I am barely on TV. I do not care if I get fired because honestly, this company is just the UWA with a new name and a lot less references to one man’s dick. I see almost no difference. If I wanted to be somewhere where every promise made to me was broken, I would go back to NEW or LAW/TNW. So I look at it as I literally have nothing to lose and everything to gain. So, that’s my deal, put the North American Championship on the line, or watch as I do terrible things with a crowbar.”
“It does not surprise me that Silver Baron did not give into our demands. I mean sure, he and Quentin Sharpe have only ever had two tag team matches. Honestly, I do not expect them to retain the titles against K.I.S.S. However, I did not think that in addition to losing his alter ego of Oblivion that he also lost his balls, his will to fight.”
::Smirking a bit, Travis pulls himself up into a sitting position. He taps the crowbar against the floor of the car.::
“It does not surprise me that no one is taking us seriously. Clearly I need to be abducting people and using worthless minions or try and sound scary with absolutely no pay out to be taken seriously. I keep saying that this company is going down hill and no one believes me. I could point out that a lot of people have quit in recent weeks, but I guess as long as the UWA feels confident in the ability of Broderick Montgomery, Jeszika Gauiter, Aerynn Donnelly, Children of Nephilim, K.I.S.S., Sin City Knights and you to keep the entire company from tanking.”
::For a moment, he sounds amused.::
“And what is amazing is I think if I add Amy Zing, whoever the hell is in Avalon or Dark Camelot and the Broderick’s new sidekick, I have just named every possible lumberjack that could be in our match with the remaining members of the Sin City Knights. Now I have no issue with facing Baron, Sharpe and Craven, but I do question the brilliance of a tag team lumberjack match. I mean honestly Vince, considering that the Sin City Knights, the first UWA Tag Team Champions in history and who are supposedly these proud champions, are ducking the challenge of Sang Réal it seems that this lumberjack match is designed to keep THEM in the ring.”
“So I guess the question is Vince, do you accept that I am going to force this to be a championship match, or will you go to Georgio Oliver and complain, forcing me to do violent things to a poor innocent girl? That blood will be on your hands, not mine. And the sad thing is that I will more than likely get away with it. I mean I nailed Nikki in the head with a crowbar and K.I.S.S. seems like they are totally cool with what happened. We beat them down in the middle of the ring, and we walked away scott free.”
“Maybe, just maybe when and if K.I.S.S. wins the championships, they will grant Sang Réal a title shot. It is kind of sad that those two ladies have a bigger pair than Silver Baron. Say what you want about them, but K.I.S.S. does not duck a fight.”
::Slowly, “the Once and Future King” lifts the crowbar in his hands and looks at it. He starts to turn it in his hand, looking at the curved end as he twists the weapon back and forth.::
“Have you ever seen M*A*S*H* Vince?
“Not the movie based on the book, but the television series based on the movie, which was based on the book? Now granted, you may be too young to have watched it while it was actually airing on TV, but surely you have maybe seen a repeat or you are at least aware of the show’s existence. I have never seen the movie, but I heard good things.”
“Anyway, if you have not, allow me to explain the premise. M*A*S*H* stands for Mobile Army Surgical Hospital. It was a series following the 4077 M*A*S*H* unit during the Korean War. It was a great mix of comedy and drama in that it could make you laugh at something, but then just give you this brilliantly done emotional moment that really made you feel. It is so rare to find that nowadays.”
“There was a scene in an episode where one of the surgeons, Capt Benjamin Pierce, better known as “Hawkeye”, played by Alan Alda, and the unit’s Chaplin, Father Mulchay, played by William Christopher have this exchange about war and Hell. Hawkeye does not hold stock in the old expression “war is hell” and the Chaplain asks why, Hawkeye asks him who suffers in Hell, to which he answers sinners. Hawkeye stated his belief that in war, everyone suffers.”
::Travis uses the crowbar to hook the roof above the door and pull himself out of the car.::
“And he is right Vince. War does not discriminate between the good or bad, guilty or innocent, young or old, it just slays everyone in its path and brings nothing that destruction and suffering and death. Everyone suffers. Just ask Brenda here.”
::As he slides out, the camera shift, revealing that there is a young Caucasian woman with a tattered dress, and brown hair being suspended by the ankles in a rolled up car window. She is unconscious, possibly injured and there his blood on the ground.::
“Say hi Brenda.”
::Brenda appears to be unconscious, only groaning in pain.::
“Now Vince, you do not know who Brenda is. Brenda is not important to you. Brenda has nothing to do with our match Vince. So, now you may be wondering why Brenda is here. And you should.”
::Travis gestures with the crowbar.::
“Brenda is here because her employer, Silver Baron, said no to one tiny little request we had made and I did promise we would not be as nice. So, because of his refusing to face Sang Réal and ducking a fight, this poor, innocent girl had to be broken. He could have said yes and granted them the title shot, but he did not. So, I had to rent a hotel room, call his place of business for a girl, nail her with a crowbar when she entered the room, used various items in the room, like the television, door, mirror, a lamp and so forth, threw her down the stairs, then against the car, which I then used for more acts of violence, and then hung her upside-down with the car door.”
“Now I will admit that I perhaps did take things a bit too far, but I did warn him and it was cathartic. This is a war and there are no innocents in war. This is the price of his cowardice, of his refusal. Maybe now, I have everyone’s attention. Maybe now someone is going to take us seriously. Maybe now Georgio Oliver is going to realize that when I said I would tear this place to the ground, I meant it. My rematch versus the health and wellbeing of one poor innocent backstage interviewer does not seem like a hard choice. Clearly, Silver Baron cares nothing for his girls, otherwise he would have said yes.”
“And they call you a “paper champion”. Ha!”
::Travis smirks and chuckles a bit.::
“You can laugh Brenda.”
::He turns to his latest victim, who is unresponsive..::
“No? Nothing?”
::Travis shrugs.::
“Oh well.”
::He turns away from his latest victim, one of the prostitutes working for the Sin City Knights..::
“I’m sorry Vince, what were we talking about?”
::With one swift and fluid motion, Travis whacks Brenda in the ribs with the crowbar. There is a groan in response to the pain.::
“Oh that’s right, our match.”
“I give you credit Vince, you did something very few people have actually done at Searing Agony and actually managed to beat me in a triple threat match. I honestly do not remember the last time I legitimately lost a triple threat match to someone, because I am fairly sure it never happened before. I have only lost one in my entire career, if you can call being in the middle of the match and getting pinned by some guy who just walks out because management had found a new and interesting way to screw you over, and it counts as him winning even though he just strolled into a match he wasn’t even involved in. But I digress. You managed to win beat me in a triple threat match and there are legends that have not managed to accomplish that Vince.”
::Brenda groans in pain. Travis responds by whacking her in the leg with the crowbar.::
“Brenda, you are being rude. You know I am not going to call 9-1-1, so stop complaining. It’s only a broken ankle, maybe some broken ribs and may have punctured something.”
::Travis exits the car, standing up. The vehicle is banged up and dented from Travis’ actions to the innocent young girl he dragged into this thing.::
“You did what many thought was impossible and you have proven to be more than the “paper champion” the fans thought you were, unlike Sin City Knights. But to me Vince, you will always be some ex-gang banger from the streets, a thug who got lucky. The only reason you even gained a title shot is because some worthless piece of hillbilly trash was power tripping and gave you a shot. Now it is time I take back what you stole from me. Now it is time I reclaim what I never lost in the first place.”
::There is anger, contempt and hate in his voice. No regret, no remorse, this is Kyle Travis at his most sadistic, his absolute worst, when he cares nothing for who gets in the way of the goals he hopes to accomplish because they are in his way. This is the Travis that set a woman on fire, that ended numerous careers, that showed the world a new definition of the word “monster”.::
“That title will be on the line at Monday Night Mayhem Vince, or so help me God, what I did to poor, sweet, innocent Brenda here will seem like a nice, pleasant afternoon compared to what I do to Miller. And I am almost begging Georgio to say no and call me out on my threat. Part of me wants him to say no and not give me what I want because I swear to God that I will do everything in my power to make what I do worthy of being on my wall.”
“I am tired Vince. I am tired of taking a backseat to the same people. I am tired of everyone acting like a hillbilly cult of losers whose only trick is to abduct people or a pack of carnival rejects are the greatest threats here in the UWA. I am tired of the disrespect, the broken promises, just all the crap I keep having to deal with again and again. It never ends. It just keeps repeating again and again and I am tired of dealing with it.”
::With a violent and sudden outburst, he brings the crowbar down on the trunk of the car, stabbing it. He pulls a bit, tearing the trunk before he rips his weapon of choice out and swings it right into Brenda’s chest
“No more! I am done with it! Now comes the slaughter!”
::Travis thrusts the crowbar forward like a sword. Those cold, predatory eyes glare forward, driven by the dark and violent ambition of their owner.::
“There will be no more second chances after this week. There will be no compromise. There will be nothing except the bodies we break in our wake if our demands are not met. As of this moment, we no longer make the distinction between the guilty or innocent. As of this moment, every single man, woman and child associated with the UWA, no matter how loosely will be considered a target.
“This, Vince, is war, and in war, everyone suffers. You are just collateral damage, like Brenda here. I will tear this company down and rebuild it to a golden age. That is what Ragnarok does, and we will do it for the greater good even if more innocents need to suffer not because we want to, but because no one else will, and because it needs to be done.”
::Travis once again brings the crowbar down against Brenda’s ribcage. She screams in pain as he does so. In those cold eyes of his, there is no remorse, no regret and no hesitation.::
“Do we have your attention now?”
::Travis walks away, leaving his latest victim alone and injured in a parking lot.::
::Outside it is night, some of the sky visible trough the open window. The only illumination is from the lights and businesses around him. However, as that seems to be quite a bit, as if every light on the street is on and cutting through the darkness.::
