As Monday Night Mayhem rolls on, the team of Sang Réal, Connor Murphy and Gabriel Krown, are in the arena. Once again, they were not scheduled to appear, but still arrived. They are there without gym bags or any of their gear. They are there to watch, not to wrestle.
In the back, about midway through the show, right about the time Amy Zing and Lacey Roberts are scheduled to compete, the card for the next UWA pay-per-view, Raising Hell is posted on a whiteboard. When the two reach the UWA Tag Team Championship Match, the two are a bit surprised as this has come with no build up or any hype and just seemingly placed on the show.
However, when they see who is in the match, they are absolutely livid.
Murphy takes a few steps away from the board and runs his hands through his hair. He makes his hands into claws, taking a deep breath to calm himself down. After a moment, he appears to calm down, adjusting his tie and trying to straighten his hair.
Krown’s reaction to this news is far less than subtle or as calm. He stares at the line-up for a moment. He then grabs the whiteboard off the stand and starts to slam it into the floor again and again and again as he just yells. The whiteboard breaks in half. Krown hurls the broken piece across the floor.
Murphy steps back from his partner. Still enraged, Krown moves away from the broken board and pulls his suit jacket off, throwing it down on the ground, which Murphy then picks up. He finds one of the monitors used to allow people to watch what is going on in the back and rips it off its stand. Yelling, he drives the monitor through the catering table, breaking the table. Glass and food spill all over.
One of the UWA officials approaches him, touching him on the shoulder. Before Murphy can prevent it, Krown practically jumps on the man, hammering away at him. Getting to his feet, Krown grabs the official’s legs and proceeds to lock in the Checkmate.
At this point, security and officials move in to pull Krown off. They point and to the exit.
Krown: “What? This is bulls**t!”
Security ushers Sang Réal towards the exit and into parking area. Krown is struggling against them. Murphy brushes off the one’s that try to touch him. Sensing a story, Trent Paige approaches the two as they are moved towards the exit.
Paige: “Sang Réal, what the hell guys?”
Murphy turns to the security people, holding his hands out.
Murphy: “Ease up guys.”
Murphy turns to Paige and pulls off his signature gold round-framed sunglases.
Murphy: “If you are wondering why we are so upset, I would imagine the answer is not that difficult to figure out. The fact that NOW is the time the UWA has decided to activate its Tag Team Championships is a bit disappointing. There has been no hype, no build up or anything. It was just like the finally checked their website and remembered that they have a set of titles that they should probably consider activating.”
Krown: “Get off of me you peons!”
Murphy ignores Krown’s struggling to get the security guards to release him.
Murphy: “But the biggest insult is who is in this match. I do not recall the Silver Baron, or whatever his evil demon pimp alterego is, and the Protector having even ONE tag team match. Nor do I recall seeing the Protector even having a match. Yet somehow, someway these two are about to compete for the Tag Team Championships. Did I miss their huge win over K.I.S.S., or us? Was I not paying attention when they had a feud with Bene Elohim?”
Trent appears like he is about to answer, but Murphy holds his hand up to interrupt him.
Murphy: “You do not have to answer, because I know the answer. It is no. The Protector and the Silver Baron are not a tag team and the fact that they are challenging for the title is complete bull. If it was K.I.S.S. or the Sin City Knights, then we would not have an issue. But this is truly insulting. This is a slap in the face of everything we have done in UWA and everything we and our families have given to this business.”
The security guards manage to hold Krown, who is struggling to get free.
Murphy: “Then you have the Cornbread Mafia, the team we made. A team that is clearly so good, so over with that crowd that they can afford to only wrestle every two months, just to remember they work here, while people like the Kenyon sisters have to be on EVERY DAMN SHOW, clearly if they are not, then people will forget K.I.S.S. or Aerynn Donnelly or the Children work here and will be confused when they show up, because clearly, they will forget the people who are on every show and will instantly remember the people who show up only once every two months to wrestle.”
Murphy: “Clearly, the best idea for establishing the legitimacy of the UWA Tag Team Championships is by crowning paper champions, either with them being won by two guys who are not a real team, or a team that shows up once every two months, because being held by a paper champion is helping the North American Championship so much with Vince Jones doing nothing with the title.”
Krown: “Let me go! I’m fine!”
Krown struggles, trying to pull away from the guards. Murphy ignores this. They start to pull Krown away.
Murphy: “Two months ago, at Searing Agony, the only reason anyone was talking about the main event was because of the betrayal at the end. The match they were talking about, the match that left them in awe was not Silver Baron versus Knight. It wasn’t the Protector versus no one, because he was not there. It was Sang Réal versus the Cornbread Mafia inside a steel cage. We went out there and had the match of the night, a match of the year candidate.”
Murphy: “That is the match that UWA should have used to crown its first Tag Team Champions. It was the feud that put the tag team division on the map. Sang Réal and the Cornbread Mafia was one of the biggest feuds going into that show and the only reason anyone even gives a crap about those two moonshine running, wrestle only once every two months piece of white trash hicks is because WE made them.”
Krown finally breaks free and tackles one of the security guards, starting to punch him. The other guards manage to pull him off and they start to usher Murphy out.
Murphy: “We deserve that shot far more than two singles wrestlers thrown together because the UWA has nothing for them to do. We deserve the shot to beat those hicks once and for all. We deserve to be in the match. This is just another slap in our faces. Just another insult and this will not stand! We deserve better!”
Leaving a silent Trent Paige behind, security escorts the two second generation wrestlers out of the arena and into the parking area. As they push Krown out, he charges at the the door as it closes, slamming against it. Murphy hands him his jacket. Krown ignores him and kicks the door a few times. It does not open. Krown takes the jacket. Murphy walks away. For a moment, Krown glares at the door and then walks away.
